Thanks, but I know what it is. I wasn't sure if I would benefit from a valve job enough to spend that money. I read on a 'honda' forum (sorry) that the 5 angle gives you less contact on the valves that would not be ideal for street purposes. Less heat transfer. A 3 angle is standard on some...
Oh, still here. I see the engine every day now, but never get to work on it. Today I decided it was time to drop the block off at the machine shop. It's there for a little work including punch out 20 over. It was there not long ago for the last build so they don't have to do much. I am...
I am not using a stinger. It is a megasquirt. And it has a 2.5bar map installed. So, 22psi max. If I go beyond that, I will have to swap the turbo anyways.
Have you messed with piggyback setups yet? That is were I started. I suggest that everyone should start with those. Much easier to...
Yeah, I'll do engine work and help him with the body work. We both do it all. I just have more experience building engines and he has more with paint and body. I have done body work with his close supervision, but I don't like doing it. It sucks. We have a collision job this week.
I am...
HA! Yeah, everyone asks why and says in this economy... It was appliance repair. I was the top technician for several years and carried them through many other employees coming and going who cost them a lot of money. I deserved to get paid much more and they wouldn't give it to me. I know...
Here are some more updates. I haven't been able to do very much the past couple of weeks. I quit my job and now am doing any work I can get. I may not get to work on this every weekend, but I may get some down time during the week.
I reassembled the SC after striping and painting it. I...
Well, thanks for joining us. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
Thanks IJ for your information.

There is little feedback on the brake quiet spray. I wonder how that works, but I guess if everyone is using the copper gasket spray with success...
HA, ok. Does it matter which on you have? Mine is the cheap HKS gasket. The only thing to note is that the coating is mostly peeled off. Should I use a spray on coating before installing it? I have hear of using brake quiet.
Pulled the engine and stripped it down to see what went wrong. Melted #1 piston a little on the side. Surprisingly there was no scaring on the cyl or head. It is clean enough to drop another piston in and run it. I would rather build it with my forged pistons. Also the crank was damaged a...
Thanks.
I can only hope it will run by the end of the calendar year. I still need to open up the engine to see what went wrong when it was in the supra. It had low compression on a couple of cylinders. Ran it lean or too much advance. Either way, it was pinging a little, then it lost some...
Ok, so I will show you what I have been up to...
First I started to move along and built a intake pipe for the SC using 2.5" pipe. I already had a box of piping that size. It is the same size as the inlet of the SC.
I just was not satisfied with that size. I wanted to run a 70mm TB and that...
Um, nick, I don't think you understand. The megasquirt is affordable.
Sequential injection is an optional add on. Up to 4 channels sequential. (Uses only one output for 3 channels)

The MS can indeed now...
Here is a new discussion:
Earlier I listed that I plan to use a megasquirt and I not sure about a few things that an experienced supra standalone guy would know.
I have been looking into buying this one: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/diypnp-nippon-denso-52pin-unassembled-kit-p-390.html...
I see one problem with them. The side of the bed is quite curved and is not the same shape as the hilux bed. It would take some crafty sculpting to get them to look decent and I don't want the bedside to be messed with. I might be wrong about the curve, but it would take some measuring to...
MKiv's are overdone in the custom truck scene. They are or were, when I was into it, put on every kind of truck. There was even a complete kit with buckets and wiring. I don't think I will do those. It is possible though, especially if I really want to add more supra parts to the list. The...
Well, I will start looking into water/meth injection. As in, planning and gathering materials.
I know. As I said before, I would like to do something about that, but there is so much to do. Also I hate doing body work.
well, you answered the question about the dist block. I meant straight through as in no valve or other control. Sometimes I ask the same question worded differently. The aem kit uses no valve, just a pump and electronic control. Is it intended for use before the throttle body?
I new that statement would get me in trouble. As for the 1uz, no you didn't say that. Sorry for putting words in your mouth, it just seemed like you would suggest that b\c the amount of power coming from the sc would put the 7m at the level of a 1uz off the line.(give or take a little)...
