The black box will intercept the stock ecu signal and modify it to reflect custom fuel settings. Im guessing he asked you to buy that sensor coz its compatible with his box, and its a newer more efficient MAF type. I dont see any problems with that. Other experienced members might disagree.

UPDATE: The leak was a MISSING freeze plug. The machine shop forgot to put one in. I confronted him and he said that hes never heard of a freeze plug on the rear and that he didn't mess up. I'm definitely not going there again. Anyhoo it was a 35mm freeze plug that goes right behind the hard...

Great news. The timing light worked. The ignition was wayyy off. it was firing at TDC. However 7mge requires 10 before TDC. so finally got her running smooth. she pulls strong ill tell you that. still have to drive her with the thermostat. so i will do that tomm and post updates.
