    blown turbo

I have thick smoke that just won't go away. I can't boost past zero on my boost guage. My compression on my cylinders are good, radiator level remains the same with no fluid lost. Is this the signs of a blown turbo?:1zhelp:

Putting the head on this weekend! Check in!

No problem, by the way I forgot to let you know to chase the threads on the block for the head bolts. If you don't have a tap and die set to do this, an old tooth brush and some degreaser or WD-40 will work also. Then be sure to dip the head bolts (threaded end) in some light weight motor oil or...

    tapping from the head?

I had the same problem. I opened it up and checked all the valve clearances, they were all ok. I still had the knock so I thought it might be sticking valves, since I had to remove the head anyways to repair this I just decided to replace the head with one from Topline. Still had the knock and...

Putting the head on this weekend! Check in!

Clean the block as best you can, use a knife or razor blade to remove all the high spots of the old gasket material. While the composite gasket is more forgiving than a metal one, you really would rather have piece of mind doing this right the first time. Torque the head bolts in the pattern...

cant rev past 2k rpm when driving

Have you tried to test the AFPR as I outlined four posts back? I really feel for you, I've been working on my car for two years now since I got back from deployment and I have still yet to drive the thing. Sad part is I will be deploying again and I don't know if I'll be able to get it back up...

cant rev past 2k rpm when driving

Shaeff, if I been following this thread correctly then another thing that you might check is if you have your AFPR plumbed correctly. There is an input and an output port if I am not mistaken. If you plumbed in reverse then that might explain why you run rich at idle and lose pressure at higher...

cant rev past 2k rpm when driving

Gauge is plumbed before AFPR. On the line exiting the fuel rail or in the port on the AFPR itself. What you are actually reading is pressure being held back by the fuel pump. In a simply system... Fuel pump pumps fuel to fuel rail, rail distributes to fuel injectors, unused fuel returns back to...

cant rev past 2k rpm when driving

O.K., I am new here and have been reading this thread and hoping that Shaeff solves the problem. Hope you don't mind that I add my two cents. Shaeff, when you are at idle your fuel pressure is fine, when you rev, your pressure drops, Correct? I would take a good look at your AFPR again...
