I have this problem every once in a while. Whenever it happens, I clean all the connections on the battery. For some reason there is always some corrosion that builds up between the terminals and the cables.
I don't know if anyone has seen this before but I came across this video. Guy does something really stupid and pays for it.

I currently don't have PS working in my car as it has a bad leak from the rack. When you hit a bump it does pull to the side but I don't find it to be that severe. The thing I notice alot without PS is I notice when the road is uneven so the car wants to pull in one direction or another. Its...
I have an 88 n/a that I bought almost 8 years ago that is my DD. It had 98K on it when I got it and it now has 161K. It was rebuilt 4 years ago due to a BHG and a messed up crankshaft from a bad Main Pulley. Had BHG again in the spring due to cheap HG. My wife and I have another car which is her...
Every once in a while when I turn the key to start mine, everything dies out or the starter just clicks. When it does this I clean the battery terminals and connections and it works fine. For some reason I get corrosion between the connections (and just there) and have had this problem with...
Here are a few things to check:
Make sure the impeller on the waterpump still has all the vanes. Some are aluminum and others are steel so they may have corroded and you have little to nothing moving the water through the engine.
Make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow through the...
On a stock setup, the valves and pistons should never come in contact with each other unless, as Lagged said, you have removed material from the block or head and didn't compensate for it with a thicker headgasket. The only way otherwise is if you have replaced the pistons with ones that don't...
I paid $8000 for mine about 8 years ago. A few months ago there was a black 89 or 90 for sale at a car dealer in Columbus for $10,000. Average I see is 3K-4K for one in average condition that runs, as low as 500 if it has problems.
All it is is a hydraulic powered drive unit. If you have seen the lawnmowers that turn around in place that are controlled by the 2 levers, its the same thing. A motor runs a hydraulic pump which is run through regulator that controls pressure and then runs to the rotary hydraulic actuator. The...
Mine gets good mileage on the freeway at about 75, gets about 30 MPG.
A couple of trips I have done.
Cincinnati to Chicago - 10 gal.
Cincinnati to Las Vegas - 5 1/2 fillups of about 13 gal each over 2050 miles
Around town with mixed driving, I go about 220 miles on 3/4 tank
You can drive it til it dies, just have to keep refilling it (mine can empty it in a few hours). RockAuto.com has a remanufactured one for $150 + $125 Core plus shipping.
New guy with a question here. I have an 88 N/A that is completely stock that seems to be burning oil. I recently rebuilt the top end after my 2nd BHG and went to a metal headgasket and used a brand new head and ARP studs. Went on my first trip (Chicago) in the car since doing the work and it...
I worked in my dads welding shop for a few years before he sold it, we used all 3. He taught me on stick and moved to MIG then TIG (I prefer TIG out of them, more control). Tig seemed to be more versatile on different metals, especially thinner stuff (dad could weld 2 soda cans bottom to bottom...
Since it didn't start hapening til you removed the dash then the problem is probably in the dash. Something probably worked loose or an electrical connection was missed so you will probably have to pull the dash again. Make sure every connector is tight and check those in the driverside...
