Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Right, so as far as we can tell, the sensors seem to be operating normally and within range. I have no reason to doubt their operation...

    Is this a BHG.....?

He did more than escape :)

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Found a few things so far: The CSI was clogged to hell - couldn't even see the fuel nozzles. I've cleaned that up and it seems to spray fuel when I give it 12 volts. It was also within the 2-4 ohm resistance spec. I put a voltmeter on THA and THW (air and water temp sensors). Now, I'm not sure...

    So I have a ticking...

Sigh the 52 code is back :P

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Oh, and, yes - the FPU vacuum line is connected to the manifold :)

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Wow, I think you've covered everything too (and more)! Yes i've checked all the basics, and now I think I have a lot more to go check and hopefully find out what's going on! (ps. I wouldn't know where to get a real TSRM from in Australia, but I do have most of one printed out :) )

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

I checked it as per the TSRM, resistance scale. I will check the voltage of it too..

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Yep, I understand it's there for a reason. :) [also just bought a brand new battery] Here's my newbieness showing again, can you expand the TTS acronym for me? I searched but the three letter acronyms don't turn up too easily. "Cold enrichment problem" = "something is wrong with my...

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

You triggered my memory - There's a strong smell of fuel in my garage after a cold/hard start. I'm assuming this is because of the extra cranking time, more fuel getting pumped around and not being used? Does this sound normal or could it be a symptom of the problems i'm having?

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Thanks jetjock. No problems on the hijack! :) I haven't checked the CSI yet, so I will go do that. I've tried jumping the FP connector in diag box before starting, but that didn't help - does that rule out a fuel pressure issue? I don't have a Fuel Pressure Up VSV on the car (it broke and was...

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

I'm glad I managed to spark an interesting converstaion on ESA / Knock Sensors. jetjock: As I believe the "So stop thinking of the knock system as passive." comments were directed at me, I'll respond by saying that I completely understand where everyone in this thread is coming from regarding...

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Shouldn't that code stay there? I checked the codes when it was running properly and the only one there was 52 (I have a bad knock sensor)..

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

How is this for a wierd issue: I went to start the car last night, and as it had been sitting for hours it was hard to start. When it did start up, it stumbled for a couple of seconds and with every stumble the Check Engine Light flashed! Anyone heard of/seen this happen before? What on earth...

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Sorry, little ignorant here... where abouts is the one way valve? No, it misfires always when the car idles.

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

drjonez: Yep, I didn't think it could be the CSI. "hard to start" = takes two or three times when the engine has been cold for a few hours (about 4 hours seems to be the minimum) to start it. it cranks fine, over and over, but just won't start. Once it does start, it sputters for a couple of...

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

No codes! Surprisingly that's a very constant thought in my mind! :D I wouldn't think so either, but to be honest I'm not sure what else to look at. I've checked all the sensors as per the TSRM, the only thing I haven't checked is the cold start injector (which could cause the starting...

Can a CPS output be dependent on temperature?

Still trying to chase down some problems (misfiring when idle and very hard to start when it's cold)... I'm considering the CPS as the main culprit. If the CPS was faulty in some way, that would explain the misfiring at low RPM and running nicely at 2000+ RPM, but would it completely explain...

    Fuel upgrades

That's sure an interesting read shaeff, thanks for posting. I am still going to replace my filter, because (a) I already have a replacement and (b) I'm still trying to diagnose a problem! :) OK, So I've ordered an Aeromotive AFPR and Bosch 040 pump, hopefully get them in there shortly! :)...
