Umm... well... it doesn't work :)
If I unlock one door with the key, the other doesn't unlock. Same for locking the doors.
If I push the 'lock/unlock' button on my drivers side door, nothing happens.
Ok my little stopper on the transmission throttle cable was about 4mm away from the end of that rubber thing, so I've adjusted it so its right at the end and went for a quick test drive. Seems better so far! I'll see how it goes later tonight :)
I've been told that all Dexron III fluids are the same (close enough, anyway, that's how they get the Dexron III label)... so as long as you stick to one of those you'll be fine.
Actually to be fair I still am unable to find the correct torque for the Knock Sensors in the TSRM. Perhaps I'm blind, but perhaps someone would be nice enough to point us to the correct section?
I checked the transmission codes - nothing.
It's got fresh fluid in there, synthetic dexron III.
That TSRM proceedure to check the throttle cable - I assume that's checking the throttle cable where it connects to the tranny, not where it connects to the throttle body? I'll test that on the...
The throttle cable... do you mean the actual accelerator cable or the one that goes to the tranny?
Is there an actual proceedure for adjusting or checking those cables, or does everyone just eyeball it?
Hi again :) - I searched around but couldn't find much relevant info on my AT problem (plus I wanted my own thread! :D)
Anyway... Accelerating from stand still my car is very.. nonlinear. As I press the accelerator smoothly, sometimes (not always) the car will rev to around 1900rpm before...
Well how about that... not one thread on SM mentioning central locking.
Just great, because mine is broke. It's been broken since I got the car but now I want it to work! :)
I see there's a few tests I can do from the TSRM, testing each wire coming into the central locking box in the...
Hmm, Bishop has a pic of the hanger: http://www.ma70.com/bishop92t/pics/walbro.jpg
Looks like I'll just have to just clamp some hose over it like he's done, or something along those lines. I'd prefer to get a nice M12 fitting that I can just screw onto the pump, but I suppose that'd require all...
I couldn't find this anywhere on the forums - what sort of fittings does the stock fuel pump have?
My new bosch 040 just arrived, it has a M12x1.5mm outlet - will this attach directly to whatever is on my fuel pump hanger? Are there any other little adaptors or anything that I'll need to...
Thanks jetjock. I'll have to get my hands on a timing disc (or whatever they're called) to check that the timing notches on my crank pully are correct. It's set to 10 deg BTDC but maybe the notches are incorrect after my rebuild.
I'm very certain that the CSI is now working as the last couple...
jetjock, Yeah I tried it in a bottle but of course the bottle was still upside down so fuel would've leaked everywhere :)
I'll check that I get 12 V at the connector when cranking the engine.
I also tried the 'foot to the floor' flooded start mode today, but that didn't help.
Oh well...
Well, stone cold readings:
Water temp: 1.9 V
Air temp: 2.0 V
They warmed up to an operating temperature at:
Water temp: 0.4 V
Air temp: 1.75 V
jetjock: Unfortunately, no, I didn't test the CSI when cranking. I tried, but I just couldn't find a way to test it whilst still attached to...
Yay for us :)
Nick: I did test the car last night when it was cold, but it's now morning and the car has been sitting all night so I'm about to go test them all again, just to make sure.
