you would think when its online people can comprehend. Once again, i said overhead cam will outperform the latter. Not how many cams you have. That only came up when i was relating cost to the 1uz and how thats the most expensive part.
Never said having 4 cams made a difference. What i did say was getting cams is expensive because theres four to machine. I said OHC was more efficient and outflows pushrods and that each cam makes a difference in tun-ability, performance, and reliability provided the timing belts are maintained.
I never took offense to it at all. Its just some logic ive picked up about chevs. Having grown up with everything chev performance, ive learned my own way, like how overhead cams will always outperform the latter. Its just factual upon design.
I have no problem with whatever engine you choose...
plain out, this was about bbc, then turned to v8 supras, then turned to lacking respect for the 1uz. I think the ls series was the only turning point for chevy as they started to realize that their sbc lacked greatly. I dont count aftermarket everything, as thats no longer a chev anymore half...
Ill be back later with my 400whp 1uz build including price list. Something you need aftermarket heads or boost to achieve with a LS. Mainly, i despise crossbreeding cars that have extremely reliable options readily available for a decent price. But, then again, i dont believe in the 7m. Some of...
haha, thats the issue here. Not everyone likes to rev to make power (even i dont) but hands down to a decent 1jz.
Yes where do you think i came from? Ive grown up building a 8.5:1 454 weiand blower and a 250 direct shot in a 80 camaro. One that was built for a show car, mini tubbed, and when...
I like the car, just dont understand the need of a foot long shifter, three foot long exhaust tip, extreme negative camber on the front not allowing the tires to fully plant on their footprint, and scraping body panels over every little bump....sorry for the rant. Kinda gettin big into the drift...
Ever driven a 1jz mkiii? Doesnt do too bad for a 2.5l if i do say so myself. Even a measly stock 1jz will rip tire down the street on 245s.
As for the T56 comment, you do realize they have completely modified versions of the T56 right? A stock T56 in a w56 camaro, a T56 in a corvette all the...
The 1uz is 10:!. Displacement doesnt mean power. Stroked 350s and 351s dont build but 400-450 without a buttload of cash in the heads and top end naturally aspirated of course. Ohc will always be more efficient with a higher ceiling of power. Look at the 2jz, obviously 3.0l works pretty well...
Didnt know we were talking used ls series. Most of us dont bother throwing autos in, not to mention it wont hold any power without extensive modification. A T56 6 speed doesnt go for cheap either and its one of the few stock trans' to hold any power.
IJ...For the price of one of the cheapest ls series motors (ls1) is $3500usd. Note thats 350hp, needs custom mounts, trans adapter made or chev trans, lots of fabrication, in both mounts and fuel setup.
Now, for the same option in 6 bolt mains, 260hp, and $700usd for wiring harness, ecu, and...
Ive never heard of any aftermarket lsd that either ive had experience with or have been around being sloppy or smooth by any means. Notice, theyre there to be aggressive, hooking both tires at the same time, be strong and reliable at the same time. Comfort is not part of it. No aftermarket...
its cool all the way up until you factor in rotating drag. 7 sec 1/4s not fast enough? I can promise awd wont help. Especially launching 50/50 split. More like 30/70 would be better suited. Running my subaru rwd is completely odd but the weight transfer helps moving when the fronts arent smokin.
