Well I'm not sure what dial is for test function but I did find another way. I took aluminum foil and folded small pieces in to thin long rectangles to fit in to the sockets of each pin, shoved them in there and clipped the male and female clips back together (to complete the circuit) and...
Not sure. If you dont want to purchase online then taking your old one in would be your best bet. The new ones should be a little smaller to stretch. I used a block of wood to evenly hammer mine in.
This might be what you're after http://www.driftmotion.com/1JZ-Downpipe-Gasket-p/dm5.htm
Yes. You can use a flat screw driver to pry them out or try and pierce the tubular ring and grab it with needle nose pliers to pull it out. The only thing is to find a local exhaust shop with that same diameter o-ring. I did manage to find one locally in Canada at the very first exhaust shop...
Ok I will unplug the ECU, unbolt all the harness ground wires that I know of, send voltage through each to determine which ECU pin they are for and check list them to see if I am missing any other ground points from the ECU pin out list. During the swap I did ground every ring terminal wire that...
Thanks guys. I did try it yesterday with the expected results. I might return to the car tomorrow and I will check the ground wires on the harness. But to make this quick can't I remove my main Negative ground wire from the battery and switch it to the Positive terminal, with the ignition...
Yes but only everything that was related to the codes, including the injectors and coils. Fed 12V through all wires to double check the harness and everything checked up fine.
Actually I believe it does not have metal to metal contact. The bracket bolt counts as a ground source? I'll have to...
Changed the crank positioning sensor and still no start. After cranking, I have opened the throttle body and smelt fuel in the intake manifold. Seems to be firing injectors but no spark.
Can someone describe to me how exactly do I ground my coils?
I appreciate the help. The annual Supra meet...
I'll have to look in to the years. Dirosa I've seen a thread somewhere about people using Bosh 13913 with great results. But one of my sources no longer stock Bosh and they did a cross reference to the 22014 NGK model. But I'll go for the 22013.
Thanks guys!
Just wondering if anybody has a NGK part number for a screw on 3 wire sensor that can easily be swapped with the factory plug. I've seen information somewhere that the Bosh 13913 works great when you swap the plugs but unfortunately I can't find a local source for Bosh. I have a threaded 02...
I'm wondering if he got the new crank ventilation design sorted out. It's great to see a MK3 go 350km/h, as they are great for high speed applications.
Thanks for that info. I found two ground wires that where mounted at the dip stick post, sandwiched against the intake manifold. Should be the same wires your talking about but double check on stray wires and plugs when the car is on the hoist someday.
Today I've visited mikes auto in upper...
I did find a bunch of ground points along the harness. I will double check, but are you able to tell me around which runner both of these ground points are? The harness is from a JZA70. I do remember finding some, near the fuse box.
I have added some FIPG the last time I've pulled the sensors...
That's great to know about the camshaft sensors. I did not know the car would still be able to run. I'm curious about them because oil seems to always find it's way under the plugs. I went to a yard today to find me a 2JZGE but they where closed.
I haven't checked the wires alone but each...
SHort and sweet update. Got a known working ecu that I was able to borrow to test. The car still did not start. Next option is to source me a oscilloscope to read if there is a good sensor giving false pulsating signals to the ecu while cranking. :: tumbleweed ::
Thanks for the reply. I did...
Short update! Had a friend who is a 7M fanatic give me a few pointers to check. Fed 12v to the B+ plug under the diagnostics lid to see if the injectors would file, while the key is in the ON position and no signs of life or any ticking. Not sure if this method works on the 1JZ but there it is...
I sure hope not. The harness was extended by a electrical contractor by trade before I obtained it, then I swapped the grey plugs to my 1986.5 plugs. All the resister readings that where done at the plugs where also reading very similar numbers at the ecu. Mind you, I did notice that some...
Also, I pulled my crank pulley to have a look at the crank sensor to teeth clearance and the gap is about the width of a credit card. But the teeth where not perfectly center-lined with the middle of the sensor's stainless cylinder. Is this normal? It looks as if there really isn't much that...
