I had the same problem with Rod Knock. Turned out I had a spun bearing. Check your oil too.

I've been having troubles with my 1jz at low rpm, feeling like it could be the fuel pump.. it feels 'chuggy' at the start. This happens in first gear mainly and mostly when the car has been drivin for about 15mins. (after its warm) I also had it looked at and our thoughts were still the fuel...

Check your spark plugs or fuel pump. I had the same problem with my 1j that went away after I changed the plugs. Just a thought.
