Is it very far off normal, or just a little?
The front end has been smacked a couple of times (by previous owners), and I think things are a little out of whack.
OK, i just reinserted the statement in my last post about a divorced-wastegate downpipe allowing your turbo to spool more quickly because that's what I'm reading everywhere, but that doesn't make sense... how can the wastegate discharge make your turbo spool slower if it's closed while your...
One a normal downpipe, the wastegate dumps right next to the turbine outlet, which creates turbulence right behind the turbine.
On a divorced-wastegate downpipe, the wastegate flow is kept separate from the rest of the exhaust, which allows your turbo to spool more quickly and get higher peak...
LOL, something tells me it'll take awhile for this thread to die.
I just speed-read through the thread to see if he ever got the car running again, because I want to hear a BIC "ddp" in person -- I've got one, but I'm not sure whether I wanna try it or go with one that routes back to the...
Hey, sorry I missed out on the IRP action! I joined you guys as soon as the throbbing in my head subsided enough to allow me to do so. :)
Thanks for putting together the meet Jeff, and it was nice seeing all you folks!
Here's a crappy pic from my cameraphone to whet your appetites...
I won't be at the dinner tonight... I'll be eating Thai food with a ladyfriend. :)
I will join the festivities tomorrow, though -- my Supra is still down, so I'll be riding with Al.
Whoa, this got big. I guess I should check the forums more often. :)
I'll probably be in attendance (provided I can get off work), riding with Al... I haven't had a chance to even start tearing into my Supra yet.
Jeff: thanks : ) I'm thinking at this point I'll stick with my current Supra for the time being, and not do anything too crazy with it... then, when I have my own house with a nice big garage, I'll start a second one on a rotisserie.
Clueless: don't worry, I'm not copping out. :)
Armando...
Oh, btw -- I was driving down 465 yesterday, and I saw a pretty nice white 89+ Supra with some rims in a parking lot off the interstate, between the Brookville and English exits on the southeast side. Was that anyone here?
Yeah, I caught that out of the corner of my eye from like half a mile...
Yes, I am a better homo!
...wait, I'm not gay...
Oh well.
I'm kinda getting disenchanted with my particular Supra... it just has soo many little things that need fixed (and a BHG). I wish I had the time and facilities to build one up from a shell. Someday...
They're out there. I got mine from AAP Motorsports back when they had an online store -- but I know they just ordered it from somewhere else on my behalf, more or less. Sorry I don't remember where that somewhere else was, though. :(
But they're out there somewhere! And in real leather, too...
Man, where was this GB 2 years ago? I paid like $90 for mine.
It is a pretty good knob -- mine isn't showing any wear yet. It doesn't feel quite as nice as the stock knob (it's hard, and doesn't fit in your hand quite like the stock one), but it's plenty nice, and cheaper than the...
Well, Cygnus seems to be down, and my Supra is on the other side of town.
Knock sensor? ISC?
EDIT: wow, lots of new posts while I was trying to dick around with the TSRM, heh.
