Also another common problem with that year of 7m is the starting thing and the knock sensor re-wire. Both are simple fixes and both can be looked up on the forum.

I would say maybe replace the wire from the starter relay to the starter. I know the clicking problem with my car was the wires being to small of a gauge and eventually burning themselves up.

Could it be similar to same problem us turbo guys have? With the clicking starting and adding a relay to supplement the wire that is too small a gauge?

I never was able to start my car in drive, because it was in drive. That's weird that you would be able to do that, I thought all automatics had a safety in the tranny so that that can't happen?

You could too go piggyback to your ecu and still run MAP, I don't know if you have heard of Powerhouse ecu, which is just a piggyback system that is com programmable and runs off of MAP. I dont know however what everyone's feeling is on the Powerhouse MAP-Ecu.
