A couple of Auto to 5-speed Wiring Harness questions

Here. Take a look at my old auto to 5sp post. I have a diagram of how to get the manual wired in with the auto harness (this was a 91 but should be relatively close all years) http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?76198-5sp-swap-my-thoughts

Anyone painted the original pearl white?

I know I priced the Pearl White at my local paint shop. The Dupont paint/pearl/clear setup and all of the other stuff (reducer etc) came out to almost $700 total. I love the color but the $$$ ain't there for me. Going to go with super white to match my celica I reckon...

    7mgte and 7mge

...except that the 1ZZ-FE has a gear on each cam under the timing cover, just like the 2ZZ-GE.

    7mgte help, rebuilding/freshen up

clean the cams in varsol to get all the crud off, then you may be able to take a fine emory cloth and polish some of the surface rust off the cam lobes. How do the caps look on the inside? Any scoring?

JDM engine sellers - replacing BHG motor - any recommendation(s).

A JDM 7M has the same problems as a USDM. They all were made the same. I wouldn't waste the time.

7mgte complete head compatible with 7mge block??

yes head castings are identical. Cams are different, and would probably hurt the low end of the GE. Heads will bolt on with no issue though.

    Rebuild on a 7M-GE

    Well, I suppose a little overbuilding isn't a bad thing. :)

    Rebuild on a 7M-GE

I can tell you, a MHG on a GE is massive overkill. Just strap the head down with ARP studs and a Fel Pro gasket.

    Intake Manifold Question !!!:1zhelp: !!!

If its a GE, see above. If its a GTE, you have to take the cover/coil packs off, throttle linkage, and undo the clamps then remove the 3000 pipe.

Thinking about 2uz swap in a 89 mkiii

QFT. Also, steer clear of the 95-97 1UZFE if you are going to use stock pistons. The rings aren't carried aftermarket (trust me, I looked and looked and looked) and Toyota wants your first 3 children for a set. Best bang for the buck, 92-94 1UZ. You can get them for pennies on the dollar from...

The DM kit seems to be ok, just be wary of shipping. I paid 24.50 to ship an EGR cooler gasket and ARP head studs....I can only imagine what the intercooler kit costs to ship...

    7M GTE makes the list

being a 27 year old design, the 7MGE and GTE were absolutely game changing motors in their day. Look at what the Camaro, Corvette, 300ZX, and any other comparable car of the time was running...find me a non "super car" from 1987 and chances are, the GTE would run with it. Anything making power...

    how rare are which supras?

That would be incorrect...88 was in fact a full year, with the same tails and fascias as the 87.

    Rear Hatch Glass Replacement Questions

I know with alot of Toyotas of that vintage, the trim clips are actually in the original glue (which is a lazy way to do things)

    Rear Hatch Glass Replacement Questions

Most decent glass shops will protect the area they are working in. I would let them install the glass. If something goes wrong, they are on the hook for it.

Towing A Supra Without Rotors or Suspension?

The problem with this is, you risk damaging the underbelly of the car. The floorpan will be fine, but there are a few little brackets and whatnot for various things. Also, dragging 3000 pounds isn't easy with no wheels...
