(MKIII) Beginner, Pulling 7MGE Engine - Help Request Thread!

As far as pulling the engine, keep the trans on it when you pull. Its just easier in my opinion. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

88 would be perfect. As long as the harness is in decent shape, I believe 340 is fair for the pair. Make sure he gives you the high altitude compensation (HAC) sensor too. It connects to the small pigtail coming out of the 87 and 88 ECUs Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

Find the appropriate clips. You will best be served getting an 87 or 88 harness. There was no turbo in 86 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

Your GE harness would be OK to reference in some areas but not others. The better way to do it would be to find a second hand GTE harness that is year appropriate for your model year car (not the GTE year) and use that. On the upside if you are an electrician you can make repairs to a second...

    Need Help Identifying Exhaust System...

I have an exhaust system that I got off a car years ago. Now i'm trying to get my turbo put together and I'm trying to figure out what exhaust this is. It looks very similar to the HKS Turbo system, but there are no markings anywhere. Any input would be greatly appreciated. -Kevin

had a TERRIBLE experience with them last year. Bought what they listed as a 03-05 Celica 1ZZFE, they sent me a corolla 1ZZ. Most Detailed Ebay Ad I Have Ever Seen!!!

It's a nice ad, but there are a couple of things about that car that could be of concern to me. The 2 that caught my eye immediately were a) the right side door molding is starting to peel at the back of the door, and b) there is a vacuum line missing from the water neck VSV. Might seem like...

    Is this a Lexus AFM?

That part number cross references to a 2JZGE...so yes, it's a Lexus AFM, just not the 1UZFE unit that is commonly used. You need to put a 7MGTE AFM in its place.

90 Cressida 7mge into an 87 supra questions...

You will need to swap in the entire upper intake/plenum assembly. The lower intake is the same. The Cressida uses the same upper intake as the GTE. If its truly a Cressida motor you will need to relocate the dipstick tube to the rear. Cressidas are mid sump engines where the Supra is a rear...
