One of those vsv's is a fuel pressure up vsv so you would want to have it I would figure, not sure what difference it would make to run straight manifold vacuum to it. If you dont have an egr that one is not needed then.
@ Supraguy@aol That sucks, good thing you didn't start tearing the supra apart I guess.
Yesterday and for the last few days I have been fiberglassing my body kit, damn thing was not well made and I am having to reshape some parts of it.
The first pic is a pic of the power valve (sorry dont know what toyota calls them). Its a throttle plate inside of the engine. The vtv (I believe called the vacuum translating valve) connects to the dp (dash pot) which touches the butterfly on the throttle body. It has just a short hose on it...
Hahaha BVSV = Bimetalic vacuum switching valve (switched on by temperature), VSV= vacuum switching valve (switched on by power and ground being applied). I am using a signal from my electric fan temp switch to turn on a vsv to run through the canister.
I just stuck a spare temp sensor in the hole. Not the best looking but will work. You might be able to drill it over and tap it to a larger npt thread then get an earls plug for it.
So final word is we will just meet at the drive in at 7pm. If you wanna eat somewhere else before going thats fine, but we are planning on eating there.
They are good but they only sell one type anymore just the alumaguard. Either they dont make or dont sell duraglides anymore for the supra. Them seem like an nice enough bearing only used them twice. One is still on a friends car with over 5000 miles on them and he beats the car pretty hard...
I have put bearings in supras many times with no problems. Just check the crank journal spec to make sure there not too worn. You will need a good micrometer as the measurements are very precise with IIRC there is something like 0.0004 difference between a good and a bad journal.
What the...
I have had this problem on every master cyl I have ever replaced on a supra. I have never gotten a good rebuilt master they install the wrong seal on the rear piston. Here is a easy test that I do when I get one from a parts place to test, you can test yours this way too(but I already know it...
+1 boost leak, check the entire intake and intercooler system. Best thing would be to do a smoke test on it. Usually a shop will do the test for $40 or so, that will let you know where the leaks are of course its more if you want them to fix it but you would be surprised how many leaks a smoke...
Thanks Chris but I don't know what will happen really. I hate it but I have to work Saturday, I am still going but I will not be able to get up there until at least 6 maybe 7, so I figure the plan is we will just all meet at the drive in around 7 or maybe we can get together before hand and get...
Im running a 89 turbo jdm motor with jdm harness no egr and have a usdm ecu both plug right in and work the same as far as I can tell. I do want to put the egr on the engine later just don't want to pull the motor yet.
But the egr cools the entire motor, the egr recirculates exhaust gases...
Take the inspection cover off and see if there is any play between the flex plate and tq converter, and between flex plate and crank. Seems pretty loud so you might be able to feel the play.
fyi dont go trying to disconnect the entire wiring harness from the engine in car too much work, just unplug the harness from the computer and lay it on top of the motor, then disconnect the wires going from engine to battery and starter and such. Much faster and easier to do it that way. And...
Alright I send an email to the drive in owners getting some more information, but I think we either will meet up there at 7pm or we could go earlier and find a park or something that would have a gazebo and a grill so we could make some food or just get food at the drive in snack bar. If anyone...
well let me know details if thats better for everyone, which it probably will be since its not so far away. I sent U a pm go contact me so we can work out details. I would like to go to the tail but then again suspension is shot so I would rather wait for that to be fixed any ways before that.
So I think the best bet here is we go out to the movie on Saturday night. Get a hotel for the night after the movie. Go out for a cruise the next day. Just need to know who would be interested in getting a room, we should be able to get a group rate. So far there are 5 that I know are going...
Edited this post and the first post as the original drive in we were thinking of going to, I was told, is in a bad part of town and the dragons tail sounds much more of a fun place to go.
