    Ace Japaneese Engines?

Jdm is jdm is jdm, and fine if you want to use it as a starting place for a rebuild. Lots of threads here on them, and in my one experience nothing more than a gauranteed BHG without taking it apart first.

quick "name that sensor" - I'm headed to Toyota

I originally thought it was the gauge sensor, too. Good thing I didn't just ignore it, since a broken ecu sensor might have caused me a problem for the virgin key turn this weekend. :aigo:

Kyana Supras Fall Meet Nov. 2nd 2008

^ Gives me time to break my motor in before any hard pulls. ...provided it actually starts this weekend! :x:

quick "name that sensor" - I'm headed to Toyota

Water sensor (EFI), so right you are Supra87T, and a $53 mistake. Oh well... Thanks for your help. :)

quick "name that sensor" - I'm headed to Toyota

Sensor on the rear t-stat housing, just below the turbo water supply banjo, nestled behind the PS resevoir mounting bracket. The harness plug appears to be green, and it's a 19mm nut. I busted mine while breaking the banjo loose and only have the stub left. I'm on my way to Toyota with the...

If you had $5000 to spend...

I got mine for ~$450 from Champion Toyota a couple of years ago, and like he said, "best money I ever spent". :)

Steve, have you posted up on the Ohio Supra site? Might be worth hitting them up. :)

Kyana Supras Fall Meet Nov. 2nd 2008

Iroqouis is a great place, Steve. Great views and places to shoot a few pics of your car, if the road to the top of the park is open. I made a huge leap forward on my car yesterday, so unless something goes terribly wrong between now and then, I should be in my Supra! :)

    Holy crap!

There are no words to describe how bad accidents like these are… When I was 19 there was a full speed, head-on collision right along side the car I was riding in with a friend. Long story short, but one woman died on the scene, one had a compound fracture of her femur as well and...

    Shytheed Gets Serious

PROGRESS!!!! Well, I'd have a couple of pics of yesterday's work, but I just managed to accidently erase my entire pictures folder off my Blackberry. I don't care, though, because we put a BIG dent in the project yesterday. Matt came down from Columbus and we hit it hard starting about 9 am...

Kyana Supras Fall Meet Nov. 2nd 2008

Steve, if my car is done and I've got a thousand miles on the motor you can sign me up for three pulls, if Dave will help with the tuning, of course. :) At this rate, I will qualify for antique plates before I get the stupid thing running, though, and I am SO close! :icon_mad:

    Shytheed Gets Serious

The only thing in there was a black rubber "seal", less than 1/8" thick, and it wouldn't make putting the new bushing in too hard. Gee, maybe NO bushing would explain why shifting has been a sucky thing? :/ No luck on power. Last time there was an extended outage we were on in 3 1/2 days...

Kyana Supras Fall Meet Nov. 2nd 2008

Sign me up Steve. One way or another I'll have this stupid thing done, hopefully past a full break in, and ready for a few good pulls. :) BTW, I didn't think the trip to Hoof'n was all that bad... In fact, I'll throw out the suggestion for a spirited backroad cruise to get there if one...

    Shytheed Gets Serious

^ Thanks! I just wish it was moving along faster. :) So after taking a couple of weeks to reconsider why I ever thought this would be fun or a good idea, I got to it again tonight with Dave's help again. We got a few things things done. I'm especially proud of installing the pressure...

    Craigslist.

Yeah, I had somebody "local" try to buy my car sight unseen, because they were too busy moving to look at it. Riiiggghhhtt. I don't quite understand how that scheme would work, but whatever...

    Shytheed Gets Serious

Quick clutch set question: How does the bearing come off the old pressure plate so that I can install the new bearing on the new plate?!? It looks like a pry out, but damn it's on good! Am I doing it wrong, or do I just need put a little more something into it? Jay, dinner's on me! :)...

    Shytheed Gets Serious

I've got it, Dave, and been keeping it safe for you. :) Hey, I ordered a 98 motor mount like you said, and it really doesn't look like it's going to be a fit... I've got to figure out what to do about it, because if I understand my receipt correctly, it won't be returnable. Keep me posted on...

    Shytheed Gets Serious

I'm alive! I got almost everything that I need in, but had a work emergency come up and had to leave town for the week. Now I'm just down to needing a motormount and ordering the new turbo housing would be nice. Tomorrow I run from Hurricane Hanna, get off the plane and go home to reinstall...

    Shytheed Gets Serious

Yeah, I could've pushed through and made it work, but I'm in too deep to not be completely happy with it when I'm done. And I will be! I got the gas tank strap bolts loose today without actually breaking the staps, so maybe things are looking up. :)

    Shytheed Gets Serious

Okay bad night, so unless you want to see pics of an unhappy me and and unfinished car, there will be no further pictures posted this weekend. Outside of the minor frustrations, Dave (dbsupra90) and I ran into a bunch of problems that we couldn't work out tonight. So, here's my...
