yea you gotta rebuild the tbi with the gasket kit... Yea the engine condition of the car makes it worth atleast 1k the rest of it is clean and fine and thats the sad part.
But im willin to say the blades of the compressor are in the fmic and that'll be a pita to get out itself among other...

I'm not taking any sides here BUT one time I had a spare head from another 7mgte that was in my shop. Took it to 3 machine shops. 1st one I went to because it was closer told me the head was no good and didnt give me reason why and told me it maybe cracked..
2nd shop told me who ever did the...
it does have the above said package with the 9" wide wheels and adj. suspension!
Like I said its a very clean car. Been garage kept till it was at the mechanics shop. guess they couldnt afford to get it fixed or thought it wasnt worth it
edit: btw they have swapped a 2j and 1j in them...
yes if you have one handy. A machine shop may have a press. They may charge you a fee to have it done but its not like 100.00
Some mechanics shops have them and dealers as well. I used the one at work luckily enuff

It was the 1st gear thrust washer that was broken in mine but besides that I replaced bearings and what not while I had it open. once you get it apart place it in a vice and look it over for a little while get an idea on...

I've searched for ecu problems and its not a widespread problem as it seemed.
lack of aftermarket support reminds back in the day with our mk3's but there are things slowly comming up alot of it universal like our stuff.

it wasnt that hard. get a telescoping magnet, regular hand tools, and of course already metioned press for the gears!

yea if i do go thru with this thing I'll keep it stock for the most part and possibly get rid of the TBI in the future but to have it as a freshened up dd would be nice! its really clean on the inside!!
I've came across a site that has alot of stock/aftermarket support at very reasonable price and this old fellow is what the starquest guys highly recomend.
Personally I'm not building a 500hp monster. Thats what the supra is for.

Well I have a chance to pick up a Conquest TSI wide body for a reasonable price. The only thing I know wrong with it is that is has blown turbo, im betting the shaft was bouncing around and the compressor side blades hit and bam they're no longer in there and probably in the IC...
