Some people say they can do a heater core in 3 hours... I really doubt it.
btw.. I got my heater core for 85.00... what was the Stealership cost for yours?
Firstly, remember I am not a mechanic or qualified technician.. just simply a fellow Supra owner with comments....
Okay... from what you said, you were rebuilding the engine properly (other than cheaping out on the one area you need to do right... the head gasket).
It sounds like the...
Good answer taylor (makes a ton of sense when I read it). Kind of curious (I have all the same as what the OP has except stock intercooler still) is the safc2 a "mid-step" to going stand alone?
When I went to deal with my "random smoking" engine, the amount of oil that came out of the turbo made me believe that the turbo was shot. Sooo... I bought an upgraded one. When the original turbo was pulled, oil poured out of it.. but there was also oil pouring out of the exhaust manifold...
lol.. I know.. I got scared when I read that...
A better question may be.. what injectors are you running? A stock MK3 fuel pump is perfectly find for 440 injectors... I believe a MKIV Denso fuel pump is 255 or 275 lph. I think that is perfectly find for 550 injectors, however a different...
I got fiberglass for mine (aftermarket) and painted them. YOu can get them FG or CF.. however, I dont know if they are still making it (only 89+ style but they make a cap for the center peice as well). Finding good body trim is expensive, however you can find a good deal from time to time. I...
You say everything in the engine is brand new? (pistons/rings/bearings/oil pump/rods and crank?)
Does that mean you just had it rebuilt? If so, then someone screwed up bad. The squeak could be a bearing but that is usually a grind followed by "slapping" as it loosens. At that point, most of the...
Also, you have a new turbo but it may have a leaking seal, or you could have a lot of oil build up in the intercooler.. there are a few other reasons other than the headgasket. The quickest way to check the headgasket is a CO2 test (the kit is about 80.00 I think and is reusable... )
I had that problem.. but it was because the valve stem seals weren't pressed on correctly and were riding the valve stems. But you will have fouled plugs if thats the issue...
when installing.. they have to be pressed on until the "click"
I got my car from a guy who bought it when he was 14 years old. He worked weekends in the bodyshop that fixed the rust for him and painted while he worked it off.
He had a whole hoard of tickets hidden from his dad who was paying the insurance (wondering why it was so high... lol)
He blew the...
2007 Mustang was the first to fall to my Supra.. back when it was running on 5 cylinders.. lol.
I can't go domestic anymore.. way too disappointed by what I have driven so far. The 80's really killed that American muscle love for me...
Does the coolant valve have any history of failure? From what I can see, it looks pretty solid, although I would guess eventually it may leak from the valve pivot. Haven't seen one failed.
Hmm... came across this in SOGI.... (think its an old article, but may still be valid...)
