Turns out that even tho' the #1 plug wire had no current flow & thus no spark; the problem was a faulty fuel injector. Suddenly the #1 plug fires normally!!

I have only cold air output from the heater regardless of the temp setting (up to 85). The water control valve is working properly and the 'out' pipe on the drivers side is hot.

Well, I did discover that the turbo was leaking oil into the intake system, & there was quite a coating of the intake mani & 3k tube.
All the intake runners had equal coating, so I still don't know what caused #1 to foul. (It was oil coated after a 10 mile drive - but still running well)...
