I'm pretty sure U want to make sure the cam gears timing notch are both pointing strait up when crank pulley is at tdc. If not u might have to reinstall the cams.
same problem. just finished hg job today and it will turn and turn and not start. did u get a new fuel pump or just put new gas? should 5 gallons be enough?

glad ppl share my pain. haha. I used the old ones but they look to be in goodshape. the car wasnt drove hard and has 137k so i trust the exhust studs are good. thanks for the advice. still havnt fired her up yet..couple small issues.
got the cams on and torqued the bearing caps to 14lbs. got the timing belt on just one problem…. pin on the exhuast side that holds the cam pully in place is missing.. lame! so i have to wait and see if the machine shop that i gave the head and cams to has it or a replacement.

a little but when i drained the oil it looked ok.
I used a 12x1.25mm tap. I thought it didnt look right either so i screwed a stock head bolt in all the way and marked it with sharpee. then did the same with the arp stud. the depth that the bolt and stud threads reached were the same. the thread count on the arp studs is greater so i figured...
