well granted the R12 will work better, but isn't it cheaper and easier to get 134? My '94 4runner is 134 and it blows COLD, the minute you get in the truck.... tons of cold air. I converted my '84 supra to 134 a few years ago and we got that thing blowing ICE COLD. She has no a/c as of now...
Ok, somehow our 1990 is still R12. It's not blowing cold.... unless your in the shade or it's not hot outside, then it'll blow OK. I was thinking of taking it into a a/c shop, and having it flushed, Ester Oil put in the compressor, a new drier, and then put it under a vacuum for 4hrs and then...
AT my work, we only carry Transmission oil cooler line and power steering oil line. the p/s hose looks much heavier duty, but looks don't mean much. I might hit up NAPA for some "oil cooler line". they have a better selection of hose I think.
Ok, I think I've killed all the oil leaks but one. the oil lines on the passenger side of the car upfront are wet and drip oil. What kind of hose should I use to replace it? Power steering? Transmission line? what size is it.... 5/16" or 3/8"? Is this a pretty straight foward deal.... just...
I think the word of how K&N's don't filter well, leave oil on MAFs etc is getting out. A lot of people at my work have been asking about the oil issue with KN's. I just tell them, yes they flow more air vs paper, but don't filter out dirt like paper does and then theres the issue of oil on the...
that's what I figured. this filter is decent size. it's 5.5" OD, 2.83" ID on the pipe, and about 6" long. Pleates are deep, and lots of them. I just don't wanna starve/choke my turbo of air supply.
i didn't mean restrictivness from getting dirty. I meant restrictive in the sense it'll restrict the turbo's job of sucking air in. as in if i'm runnin 18PSI on a T61 ball bearing turbo... is that filter gonna flow enough w/out causing a large pressure drop.
IT'S ALREADY ON THE CAR!!!! It worked out like a champ. $10, paper air filter; cylinder. it's got real deep pleats which is good. it slid right into the 7mgte accordian hose and I put a clamp on it. Done. That's deffinately gonna be my air filter for the street. Only reason I'll remove/KN it...
NICE. I looke dup a pic of the part number. I'll pull it off the shelf at work and see if it'll work. Thanks for the tip!!! That'll be a lot cheaper than a KN, filter a lot better than a KN too!
I have a turbo 5M '84 supra. Everything has to be custom fab'd. where my original air box was now runs IC pipes. I need a cone filter that will fit on the end of the 7mgte accordian turbo hose.
JJ- I agree with you. I'd love to find a paper "universal" cone filter. Only thing I can find to fit what i'm working with is the KN. Do you have any suggestions on finding a 3" cone filter that's paper... b/c that'd make my day.
it's a 3.0 V6. not sure what the engine name is. Is that motor really easy to do a timing belt on or something? why doesn't the water pump need replaced?
