I dont mean to sound pissy or anything so Im sorry if my attitude came off like that. I mean after everything is said and done I could have a manual RHD 2JZGE supra with less than 50k miles for around $15k. Obviously the 5-speed but I just dont see myself finding a LHD like that here in the...
The purpose of removing the engine is to avoid customs so that I could get the car right away and not have to wait 2 years to import it. Tax is less than a grand and import fees are 1500. By removing the engine and shipping the car over partially disassembled they are classified as car parts and...
I've researched it. It would definitely recommend much cheaper to import. If I import a 1993 it would be legal to register in 2018. That's less than 2 years using the correct math.byou will not find a cheaper one in the states. I've been looking. After import fees it's possible to get one for...
So I've been doing some research and I think I would like to import a mk4 from Japan. The website says it needs to be at least 25 years old but could offer storage if its not quite to that point. My question is if I could just buy a MK4 body with ONLY the engine and transmission removed making...
On the stock oil cooler system there is a banjo bolt that connects the return line from the oil cooler to the pan. Did you just plug that up with a new crush washer and reuse the banjo bolt then?
Also....did you mount your oil filter with the threads down? Meaning when you unscrew it oil spills...
I already have .011 of an inch off the head and it needs to be machined again. I was wondering how much more I can take off. Also, the block has .006 of an inch off and I am using a 1.4mm Titan Metal head gasket. Will that still work out ok?
blocks in the shop with the timing cover on it. Head im not doing cause i just got it decked 1100 miles ago and had no problems when i took it off. he checked it and it was good. Didnt check the ra though thats why i would go with the titan.
Can the titan head gaskets hold the same amount of boost as a HKS? Because if the titan one is more forgiving i would go with that for sure. And another question i wanted to as is if there is any pressure behind the rear timing belt cover? Because i know the gasket and head actually go over it...
Ok I will ask about his ra and see what he can do. Now do i have to get an HKS gasket or can i go with a greddy? HKS as far as i know only offers a 1.2mm and a 2.0mm gasket. Greddy has a 1.5mm. And Titan motorsports has a 1.4 but i havent really heard anything negative or positive about them...
And you would know that my block is no where near what it needs to be now how again? How can the ra on a block change from a factory with out warping? And i also dont understand how my timing cover can be higher on one side and not the other. the block has never been resurfaced so when would...
how does someone measure the roughness average? And you say it should be machined to at least 25ra or better but ive seen people saying to get it to 15ra or better. The rear timing cover in sanding myself. I honestly dont think that i need to get the block resurfaced just because the "ra" is...
The machine shop checked my head and block and said they were both straight and true other than that cover. I already had to head in once to get machined but i took it off again so thats why i got it checked. I wont use the copper spray but why would i get my block machined if its already...
I recently pulled my engine out and I am installing an HKS MHG. I took my head and block to a machine shop and both are straight and true. The only problem I have is the rear lower timing cover on the block is higher by .002 inches. Its flat for about an inch from the exhaust side but then all...
