1978 datsun hl620 pick up truck('bullet" door mini). burnt orange, white camper shell. god i miss that truck. but between 15 and 16 i shot from 5ft something to 6-1, and i looked like a monkey fucking a football getting in and out of it. i tried for a while to find a king cab version of it. but any i found that werent rusted out were attached to owners who would not sell at any price. or owners who definitely had a price, one i wasnt willing to pay.

Just like that one, same color too. Hated it when I had it.

Now I wish I could throw my 1J in and really do it up :naughty:

91 accord ex 2dr 5spd. 160k miles.

I miss the stereo (4-6.5 inch speakers beats the hell out of the supra and truck pathetic stereos...) And I miss the sunroof.

Sold it after 5 years for the Supra and although I miss parts of the old car, it was the best decision I've ever made.

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0. Thing was a total heap, but it was just plain unkillable, and it would go places stock that I've seen lifted trucks have more trouble getting to.

How could you even utter such blasphemy to suggest that you didn't like a 1st generation Celica? Unless this was when these cars were new and you were old enough to have enjoyed American cars when they had nuts, I don't understand how you could dislike the Celica... Hindsight though, ain't it a bitch? :p

My brother has a similar story about a stock S10 going up Potato Hill at Moab's Jeep week from a few years ago. Guys with these dedicated trail rigs had trouble doing what one nutjob with a stock, exhaust-removed S10 managed to pull off. :p

My dad bought it new in 88 and handed it down to me in 96. Carbed 1.5L w/5 spd manual. We never tested the mileage but it had to be over 30 mpg.

It died a slow and painful death. A rocker arm broke and left a valve to tap on the inside of the valve cover. $1000 later (out of my pocket) she started having trouble keeping the crank pulley bolt in place. I'd tighten it down every time I went somewhere. Must have taught 10 people to drive a manual on her.

The first car i ever owned in my name was a 1979 Chevy Nova 4dr rattle canned flat black :evil2: with teal vinyl interior... bought it for $350 and my dad drove it home (didn't have my license yet) However, I never got to drive that because I didn't get my license until I was 18 due to financial reasons. So on my 18th birthday my uncle gave me the car I was in love with ever since he bought his first one... 1985 Toyota MR2 5spd sunroof... God I love those little cars

Except mine had filler on the front drivers side fender, and the passenger side fender was a badly fitted pattern part in primer. The door on the drivers side didn't work and i didn't have a key to unlock the fuel filler cap. Had a blown headgasket, and had mayo in the crankcase - like, full on eggsplosion (punny, no?). Still, for £50, i couldn't complain. Drove me to and from work for over two weeks before i ploughed it into a tree...cheaper than a travelcard!

I learned to drive in my mom's subaru GL-10 wagon, but this was the first car that was mine. My parents bought it for me as a high school graduation present. It was in decent shape, but was a non-turbo... for a few months. I learned ALOT with this car. It was my daily driver for 9 years. I still have it, but the chassis is rusted out and I parted most of it out. It went through so many phases...

Way back right after high school I was into car shows... this is the Carlisle Custom Compact Nationals... I got 3rd in my class that year. The motor was pretty much stock, but just having a turbo was impressive to people back then.

Then after car shows got old, the interior was stripped and more mods got dumped into it (side exit exhaust was fun, using the 2-step it shot flames that you could see in the side view). The car was feared by the locals... people rumored it to have 500hp (lol, it had about 350, their cars were just slow). These shots are from about 2 years before I took it off the road.

God I miss this car... :wtc: I'd build another DSM in a heartbeat.
