why not go with a divided .84 on the 6265? quick spool valve compatible if you want one now, or in the future, and the 6265 will make more power than a 6262.

thats what reid@sp recommended for me.

What about a 6765 with a .68 hotside? I'm actively looking at a new turbo and can't decide on that or a 6265 with. .81 hotside.

a guy on supraforums made 520 with a 6262 on 17-18 psi on a 1jz??

Wish i still had the thread open

17-18psi? Hmm... I guess that sounds about right, I believe they put out around 650+ in the low 30 psi range.

wouldn't this turbo with a divided exhaust housing give a better spool up? But really which is better Divided or Undivded? Other than this what would anyone recommend for a quick spooling street/strip setup looking at something with a .68A/R Divided T4 Housing Ball Bearing also not into cheap ebay turbo's dont beleive in those not knocking anyone using them but thats just my personal preference.

I was thinking about that quick spool valve... that and I got a deployment coming up in a bit, once I'm back, the whole car is gonna get ripped apart and put back together with shiny, new parts :)

EDIT:
Just ordered .84AR divided housing from precision, hopefully spool time is gonna be faster.

Hey guys would having a Undivided Turbo on a Divided Manifold be a problem? Because one of my friends ran a Precision GT40 with a undivided exhaust housing on a divided manifold on his Rx7 and told me he had no problem. I just want to know if this is safe or creates any issues.

I can't see that being a problem, you just won't get the benefits of having a twin scroll manifold with an undivided turbo housing. If it were the other way around (divided turbo, undivided manifold), I could see it causing a bit of unwanted turbulence, but in this case, I don't see it causing problems.

When I ran divided manifold with undivided housing on 6265, it seemed to spool slower than it does now with divided mani+housing.

That's what I meant. The whole point of having a divided housing on the manifold and turbo is so that there is less interference and smoother airflow going into the turbo. Ever look at intricate headers on cars? It's generally designed for high velocity speeds into the turbo. The more air you can get into a turbo, the faster it will spool up. :)

Interesting info. I've got a spare 6262S from my Acura, & was going to put it onto my 1JZ. But it's a T3 flange. I was originally going to buy a single turbo manifold, cut off the T4 flange & then weld on a new T3 flange. But if the divided T4 flange is better, I may just get a T4 flanged turbo.

I have a 1jz with a stinger ems and a Turbonetics T70 turbo with a .84 hot side..... Its way way way to laggy. Either needs a QSV or I may go with a 6265/qsv or 6765/qsv. On my last 7m mk3 I had just a 6765 no qsv. It was a little laggy but not horrible, but made crazy power up top. For my 1jz im looking for a turbo that spools faster but also makes really good top end power. My goal right now is 650hp. what are the 6262 and 6265 rated for?

What size A/R exhaust housing did you have on ur 7M with the 6765? was it a divided housing? What rpm would you see full boost and were you running on stock internals?
