Hey guys what do you think of this turbo ball bearing with SP compressor Cover and .68A/R has anyone got experience with this turbo what kinda spool and hp should i espect between 14-18psi with supporting mods? also what if it's used with SP's Quick Spool Valve would this make a big difference in spool up?

I run a forced performance billet 62mm, which is quite similar. With my quick spool valve and a .84 T4 hot side I see 15psi by 3300rpm and 435hp at 22psi with pump/methanol on stock ECU / SAFC. I think it's around 370-380hp at 15psi. Can't really beat this turbo/QSV combo for a street car. I think the 6265 is would flow better though.

I'm looking at this turbo, or the 6265, and a few people have suggested the 6265 with a big exhaust housing, like the 1.00, and then run the QSV.

SAFC? I figured you went stinger or some other stand alone. How is traction with that kind of power that early? What are you doing to help her grip?

I've got 295 BF Goodrich KD's for rubber. But it still spins in 2nd unless it's super hot out, or I drop the boost a bit. I use my AVCR to ajust the boost per gear, depending on the conditions. If it's summer, I run 12psi in 1st, 22psi in the rest of the gears. If it's winter, I have to run 10psi in 1st, 18psi in 2nd, and 22psi in the rest of the gears to get consistent traction. It's pretty effective cheap traction control :)

Ive seen how much faster the turbo spools with the QSP.
With the QSV is it even worth going BB, the difference can hardly be noticed or am I wrong?

Journal bearing turbo with QSP is about the same $$$ as a turbo with BB.

No I don't think so either. With the QSV it makes it fairly even. When first purchased the journal QSV combo will be about the same price as a BB. However, when it comes time to have it rebuilt it won't cost you as much for the journal bearing.

I like this turbo and have seen big numbers. I have also heard that there IS a noticeable difference in spool between that and the 6265. i would say go for the journal with qsv.

I wouldn't run a 6265 with out a qsv on a 1jz, there is definately a noticable difference in spool between the 6262 and 6265.
I personally went with the 6262, my goal for my car (1jz) is over 6XXrwhp.
The 6262 will definately not be the limiting factor by any means, this turbo has put cars into the low 9s (maybe quicker) and can support crazy power.

So... anyone running one of these (6262) on a 1j? 87M-GTE?

I'm looking at going with the 6262 .63. Seems the turbo can support over 600, but still have a nice mid-range in addition to a nice top end.

The .63 only comes in T3 V-band the .68 T4 V-band would be better for our cars from what i've seen this is also what i purchased havent installed it though due to lack of time i got the rest of my kit from driftmotion.

I'm a noob. What would be the difference in spool between getting a .68 A/R and getting a 1.00 A/R with a QSV?

Done a bit of research since then and came to the same conclusion myself. Almost wish they had a .7x a/r for this turbo though...

I think he was making a funny.

"Got a few minutes?" referring to the difference in spool time ..
