I flew to Chicago Dec. 18th and bought a 1997 SC300. I drove it back home and thought I'd start a new thread about it. I plan on taking my 1.5 jz and installing it into the Lexus. My supra seems like a rattle trap to me. It has too many creeks and whines in it. The best thing about my car is the motor so I'm putting it into a newer body. Here are a few pictures I took with my iphone.

I took the wheels off today and raised the coil overs up a little bit. They were too low for the roads I live on. I also think it looks better now. They were too low in the back. I'll post more pictures up later after I've buffed it.

I plan on installing a built auto that I have. I also plan on changing to a AEM to control the automatic shifts. Hopefully this swap won't be too hard. I have most of the stuff I need. I think I'll get a harness made from Dr. Tweak and buy the rest of the stuff from www.driftmotion.com

very nice...i've owned two so far and definitely would take it over an mk3 only because of the ride quality. Can't wait to see it swapped.

great pick up!

I'd rock it (it's red, duh)

I'm more of a Crip than a Blood, but I love this renaissance red.

Love it. Congrats on the SC.
Thanks. I've always liked their look, but I love this one.

 my 89 mkiii turned into a rattle trap :( sadly it was totalled otherwise I would've stopped @ nothing to fix it
I've put enough money into my supra to know that I'll never get it back. I just wanted something different.

Thanks. I do love the way this one rides. I adjusted the coilovers last night. I think I'm going to make one more adjustment. It's still a bit too low for the roads around here.

What are you going to do with the supra?

I don't have a clue. I'm going to remove the motor and a few other things for the swap. I could sell the supra with my 1.5jz in it and then build a new 2jz. I haven't made up my mind yet. It would be more profitable to sell the supra and buy another 2j, but then it's more work. I've got all winter to think about it though.

I come from a land down under
Spent a lot of time in a Buds SC400, very nice car and as you've found the Mk3 chassis has a useby date after xx amount of years over 500rwhp...

Mine was totally shagged by the time I crashed it and while I "could" have repaired it I just didn't want to.

I agree totally Ian. My car's date has expired recently. It's still a great car, but I swear I hear a different squeak every time I get in it.

Hvy.............not going to happen. Although I live in the land of carb'd 350's, I'm not going to be owning one any time soon.

I hope to work on it some this weekend. I need to make sure that the Lexus' came with a two stage paint job and not a single stage before I get to wetsanding and buffing it. The best part about it are the tires and wheels are brand new. No more than I drive it, they'll last me a couple of years........or until I get it turbo'd. There's no way these tires will have any traction once the cars done. I'm going to try the r888's on the back instead of the MT ET streets I've been running on my supra the last two years.

I may just clay bar it Poo. I think a good buffing will do wonders for it even though it's shiny already.

StiCk, it is the opposite of your username. Nice sig. Do you have a build thread on your car?
