Sorry to bring up an old topic, but would it be better to use a t4 manifold with a t3 adapter on a hx40 for a faster spool? Or will a ct26 to t3 adapter suffice? I know this was kind of discussed in this thread, but I wasnt certain on the answer. Also I plan on using the stock hx40 exhaust housing. I dont mind lag at all, love it actually, I just want to know which setup would spool quicker or if theres any real difference.

Not sure that there is a whole lot of real world testing to say one is better than the other.

I think it comes down to budget and engine bay room.

Let us know what direction you take.

I actually would love to trade by 7 blade hx35 for a 6 blade hx40, I don't want to run the t3 adapter on my t4 manifold.

I can't find many dyno's on a holset bolted to a 7m.

I found out the turbo im getting is a t4 so im happy. Just out of curiosity why wouldn't you run an adapter?

I might go with a hx35. Idk...... I want to push around 400 to the wheels on low boost, but I know once I reach it I'm going to want more. Idk now...

I think a hx40 maybe too much for now? I may be satisfied with a hx35, specially after seeing this hx35!!!!!

Anybody have any thoughts?

I actually changed my mind as well, ended up going with a zeta 3.2 with a .6x t4 housing. I was afraid the HX35 would quickly be at its limits with me only on pump gas, if I had easy access to E85, that would of been a different story..

I love lag, but now seeing the turbo in person....I may get a smaller housing lol

I looked a month for a local hx40 in good shape with the short t4 housing on it, couldn't find one.

Why do I always find out about stuff when its too late. I just looked up the zeta 3.2......made me :3d_frown:. Ball bearing turbo, great price, great #s. Missed out.
