Been having issues taking out rear ends at the track. What 60ft times have you guys been able to get out of the MKIII diff and what ratio?

My best is 1.6sec 60ft on mickey thomson ET streets. Pre 89 diff with 3.93 gearing. LSD is starting to wear out these days so hook up isnt as great but still pretty consistent 2.0-2.2 seconds

Sheared teeth off a month ago, but the backlash was a little loose so I may attribute the failure to that. This time around we got a solid spacer and reduced the backlash. Hit 1.6 followed by a 1.52 but then we lost the limited slip and hearing a metalic clunking sound. Turns without noise, just when there is an unloaded shift there is the noise. Still need to pull it apart to find out what failed. Currently runnig a 4.30 gearset which is where we need to keep it for our shift points and MPH.

What tires / transmission / rear end are you running? There are guys launching HARD on stock rear ends without issues, as long as the diff is in good shape, as in, new. Below 1.5s reliably. Seems to be more problems with the R154 acting like a well boiled cob of corn than anything else, to be frank.

not ready for pics yet, but soon

however, we did find out what happend to the rear end. The spring plate that pushes against the outer gear got bent. It is supposed to be flat and it got potato chipped, which reduced the tension on the clutches and pretty much smoked them. We dropped in a used set of clutches with another set of spider gears and also added a spacer to the spring tensioner. Not really sure if it did much, but the better clutches really helped.

We took the car out to an event yesterday and hit a 1.47 60/ft. Maybe next time out we will hit it with a little nitrous.

1.69 was my best sixty foot with a rebuilt 154, and stock 3.73 gears. I have broke one differential into. The driveshaft was still attached to it, but the LSD was now a two piece rear end. I swapped my LSD's out about eight times. For some reason, I always buy them and they turn into one wheel wonders. I've asked Jaws gear about building me one, but he's not interested. I haven't checked out the other person suggested up above, but I will give them a call if I decide to keep my supra.

Are the 8.8 or 9" a straight axle conversion or IRS? I have a 8.8 IRS in my 300C which pulls 1.4x 60' times at 4400 lbs so I know it will hold up just fine in a Supra at 1000 lbs less.

On the Mopars we run both an Iron and an aluminum version. The Iron are quite a bit stronger and work better with transbrake cars. I'd love to do this to my Supra as well.

Nice! Looks like there is plenty of room in the cradle. Who did you get to do the axles and what spline are the hubs? We use DSS for the axles and I was going to use them but if someone already makes them it would save time. Nice job on the housing. I assume you made the custom mounting points?
