Did some more work on the engine bay. Removed my ABS module, Master Cylinder and lines. Tucked the passenger side, still one more plug to do, the one that is usually by the 7M Air Flow Meter.

I am going to put in the new brake lines and new master cylinder tomorrow. Then finish the tucking of some of the last wires that run under the radiator support and pull out the old intercooler.

The holes will be filled up and then painted and there are a few of them well in the area where the ABS module would be. Enjoy the pictures.

Thanks, I am going to use bronze rod and then fill each hole. I don't like the aspect of putting filler all over the engine bay. Gas welding seems neater to me, very similar to TIG welding.

Gurley, on your fuel pump relay mod, you jumped the terminals on the relay plug?

Yes you are jumping the relay that powers the relay that switches the resister to the fuel pump so you do not get 9V then 12V when you hit boost but instead you get the full 12V. This signal is then used to power my relay in the hatch that actually powers the fuel pump.

So today, I did some more wire tucking, that is all done now, and put everything under the fender well behind the mudgaurd. I wanted to keep everything away from water. I took all the bolts out and circled all the holes that need to be filled. I was going to start use some bronze rod and fill the holes but the gauges on the gas tanks went bad and would not allow us to regulate the pressure so I have to get a new one before filling anything.

I am also going to use Gurley's idea and pass the harness through the firewall at a different spot to aviod it running across the firewall. I also removed the last set of brake lines and I am going to start putting in the new master cylinder and NON ABS brake lines on Thursday.

After filling the holes, I am going to paint the engine bay, clear, wet sand and then buff it. After that I am going to scrub the rack and pinion to get the dirt that settled after washing the engine bay and paint the crossmember. I will also be putting in new inner and out tie rods, boots, upper and lower control arms and subframe bushings.

After setting up the body for the engine, I am waiting on the turbo kit for the engine, I am going to coat the underside of the Supra with rubberized undercoating.

I finally got sometime to get some work done on the car. I refused to use body filler on my engine bay, so I sealed all the holes with bronze rod using the torch. I also loomed up the harness under the radiator support since the old loom was brittle. I also loomed the alternator cable that runs there as well. I am still waiting on parts for DriftMotion to finish my engine.

The spots in the engine bay will be sanded down and then a very thin minimal amount of body filler will be used to give a smooth surface followed by a series of sanding stages to get a smooth surface before painting. I am going to go to the body shop to get the paint mixed. This way is better in my opinion because I seal all the holes without having to spread a lot of filler over it, especially the holes in the ABS module area, some holes were left on purpose and others still have to be filled. Opinions are welcomed.

I know for a fact that when the engine bay is finished, everyone is going to say how nice it is. :)

Very nice! You still have a long ways to go, but you're as step ahead of me right now.

Thanks....I plan on grinding it down smooth, fill and prime it on Saturday, then paint it on Sunday. I am also going to undercoat the underbody of the car to prevent any rust since there is none.

Have you gotten your valve covers chromed yet? If not you'd be better off just polishing them. They are aluminum and if you sand them enough they will look very sexy. Here's what mine look like along with the polished stock intake manifold

Did you get your quickspool yet for the project, hows it look and is it going to be an easy fit in the engine bay of a mkIII?

I will be getting that soon. I am still prepping the engine bay as you can see. I will be putting in the valve before the engine goes in because I don't want to pull the turbo off just to install the valve. It fits in the MKIII engine bay. The turbo will sit 3/4" higher but Tekedus on here is using it on his 7M and boost is available early.

I am already ahead of you. I have my valve covers, upper and lower intake manifold and serpentine belt tensioner and throttle body all in a box ready to be sent out to be polished. I also have a box load of unused exhaust wrap and the aluminum covering to dress up my manifold and downpipe.

I wanted to move my fuse box under the fender as I have a nice spot but I just like the look of having it there with new loom. Once you clean the relays and add new loom, it looks really nice.

Just order the constant pressure hose clamps. The one you have to use a plier to squeeze to open and remove. I don't like the screw hose clamps. You always have to go back and retighten them after their first couple heat cycles. Maybe it is just me, but I never tighten them all the way for the first time because of thermal expansion and popping a hose. These will eliminate that problem, new like OEM Toyota.

So I finally placed another order for me parts and they all should be arriving this week. I recieved a few of them. I have been busy with school and finals so I no time to work on the car. This week, well after tomorrow, Monday, I will start to work on it. I have the engine bay still sealed and it is waiting to be grinded down, filled, primed and painted.

I am still waiting on the head from the machine shop, so the block is still a short block. Turbo setup should be coming this week along with my intercooler and a bunch of other parts and a Marlin Crawler rebuild parts with a Toyota rebuild kit for the R154. I am going to ship out my Valve covers, Intake Manifold, Throttle body and the Waterneck to polish this week.

Going to place my order at SP this week too.

Here are some pictures.....

Update...

We had a lot of snow up here in NY, over 14 inches of snow. The plows were out but didn't clean any of the inner streets which made getting around really bad.

I did not have any time to work on the Supra, the engine bay is still in the unpainted and welded condition that the previous pictures show. I plan on getting the Supra in the shop tomorrow and finished the engine bay.

I did take apart the gear box and start to rebuild it. Nothing was wrong with the gearbox, I just wanted to freshen it up with new bearings, synchros, seals and all the marlin crawler goodies.

I finally got all my parts from Aaron and my turbo is done now. I haven't even opened the box to take a look because I have been so busy. There are only a few more parts that I need but that can wait until I get the head back from the machine shop. My head has been delayed because the machine shop has one of there solvent tanks break and flood the shop, so I am hoping to get it back soon but I told the machinist not to rush it one bit.

I ordered Defi gauges as well, so I will get pictures as soon as those arrive.

In the process of changing these synchros and bearings. I just got the case off which took a while since it was pretty stuck on there and I didn't want to hit it with a lot of force.

I hope the TSRM shows me where all the locking balls go back, I know some but not all since some were resting in the case because of all the shaking and fell onto the table when I pried the case off. That is all that I am worried about.

I had to stop and now heading to Harbor Freight to get a bearing puller since we only have a press which can't get the bearing off of the idler shaft.

I should be finishing the gearbox tomorrow and hopefully picking up the head from the machine shop if our roads get cleared of the snow we are supposed to get.
