Dunno I'm not a drag racer I just know my rebuilt 58 started showing signs of distress at very low power so I swapped it out before it self destructed!

I'm sure one of the guys that races can answer your question though.

Do you think hooking a 1.9 60 ft will be too much for the w58 to handle?

It sounds like a 2.2 or 2.4 was too much for it!

Don't waste the money on another N/A clutch. Bite the bullet, and find yourself a R-154 before going back to the track. You are just pissing money away with that W-58.

I hear wat ur saying bro, But i already have a 6puck disk lying around from an old parts car i had, and can get it re padded for $50 bucks.

The 2.2 launch i dumped the clutch and it bogged at 4grand,

If anything ill test the limits of the w58 on the track. I kno hp wise im no where near the limit of the tranny.

i managed a 2.1 60ft with 285 40 17 street tires mounted on mk4 wheels.
you should be getting way better 60fts with those tires.
i agree with whoever said to swap to r154 tranny. you wont have to worry much about it breaking.

if you wana run really good times, you have to let go of the worry that you will break otherwise it will prevent you from truly pushing your car

yea it was my first time ever on the dragstrip with a 5spd car. So i kno more practice is needed. My first pass ever was 2.4 and then on the second it dropped to 2.2. and when i was gonna really launch it, it prolly wouldve been 2.0 or 1.9 but as i said the clutch gave up. I realized that i can source me a backup w58 for dirt cheap so next time at the strip im letting it all hang out. trust me on that.
