    Help! Charging problem

This is great! I have everything working now. It appears that the brake fluid did more damage than I originally thought. There were an number of fuses that were corroded and in some cases deteriorated to the point that they were not functioning. Once again the experts to the rescue! Thank...

    Help! Charging problem

Well I replaced the fuse and now have power to the alternator and it appears to be charging. However, I do not have turn signals. I checked for voltage at the fuse box and 2 fuses do not have power, tail, and mir-htr. There is also a relay which is quite hot. I really need the WDM for these...

    Help! Charging problem

I’m hoping that some will be able to help out, this forum has been an excellent source of help in the past…. Yesterday I installed new carpet as the old one was destroyed due to a leaky clutch master cylinder. I took the car for a test drive (I also replaced the clutch master cylinder) and...

    TSRM Tie Rod Installation

Well I took Asterix’s advice and forced the nut onto the tie rod. It went on, but took about 20 lbs of torque. I put the rod on last night and took it for a test drive, all seems to be fine. I really appreciate the advice gents. Cheers, Dave

    TSRM Tie Rod Installation

Yes the one (in my picture) on the left (is a Beck/Arnley part, the other is made by Spicer) has the new Toyota nut, but that’s about as far as it goes on. Was afraid to try and turn it on further as I did not want to strip the tie rod. Interesting quote in the TSRM “precoated”… As you said...

    TSRM Tie Rod Installation

Thanks for the responses, but the 86 – 88 inner R/H mounting is unique. I am really having trouble getting a tie rod that can be used on the car. There is a nut that fastens the rod to a bracket that is connected to the rack assy. I have ordered and received 2 parts, 1 from Beck/Arnley and 1...

    TSRM Tie Rod Installation

Does anyone have the TSRM proceedure for the installation of R/H inner tie ends for 86.5 thru 88? I have the 90 TSRM (which is posted) but it does not have the installation proceedures for this particular configuration. Please see attached image for part in question. I am looking for the...

    87 N/A R/H Inner tie rod nightmare!

I have been trying to replace my pass side inner tie rod for about a month. I ordered a Beck and Larney replacement part, dissassembled the tie rod (I also bought new outer tie rods) and tried to install the new parts starting with the inner rod. No luck, the large brass nut that holds the tie...

Where is the Knock Sensor located on 7m-ge

Thank you for all the responses. I should have been a bit clearer in the description. The plug is yellow in color, and it is hanging near the forward passenger side of the block just below the exhaust manifold. The oil pressure sender connector is in this area. I just cannot seem to find...

Mine has been sitting for about 2 weeks after HG, rear shocks, exhaust, frnt lwr ball joints, clutch pedal rubber, inner & outer tie rods (safety inspection), just waiting for tomorrow to get the muffler extensions and install them, then off to the safety inspection again. After that storage...

How do you change inner tie rods?

As far as I am concerned the Mechanic is not the “sharpest knife in the drawer” anyway. He snagged the exhaust for not exiting the car, I bought and installed a factory exhaust and guess what, it does not extend past the rear bumper either. He also snagged a clutch pedal rubber and my rear...

How do you change inner tie rods?

Thanks Jeff, that was just what I was going to ask... I looked at the manual again and I assume that if you position the end of the rack far enough over, there should be enough access. I will need the tool to torque the rack end (unless I use my trusty human arm and a wrench). Would you happen...

How do you change inner tie rods?

Safety Inspector snagged front inner tie rods due to wear. I can't seem to find any information on how to replace them. I guess the biggest concern is whether or not the rack and pinion has to be removed to accomplish the job. Any guidance would be appreciated..
