Hey there, I was the one who started this thread. I haven't been here in a long time, as I sold my Supra in mid 2008 or so. I have seen it twice since, the last time just about 3 weeks ago at the parking lot of a movie theater, and I wanted to cry. The owner is taking good care of it as it looks...
You guys wont believe this.
A cable that went from the battery pole to the ignition module, somehow made ground and burnt the module. It also melted a bit (just a bit) of the battery. The battery is an Optima that the care came with, over 2 years ago when I bought it with the 7M motor...
I start the engine, revs go up to maybe 2,000, and STAY THERE!! What could be wrong?
They usually go that up, but then go down and stay down... but now this is happening. What could be the problem with this? And if I step on the gas, and they go up a bit more, they stay there, at the new...
To all the guys who said the problem was ignition: it turns out it was, like my mechanic said, lack of fuel. When we choked the return fuel line, the popping stopped. It turns out my car had the original fuel pump (7M-GE originally). It now has the proper one, and the popping is gone... just...
I thought I was the only one! I usually put it in 2nd gear before going to reverse, but I don't let go off the clutsh between 2nd and reverse. It works *most* of the times, but not always. If it doesn't, then I improvise, I have no rule. On rare ocations it's been so stubborn, that I put it in...
I was just thinking of a possible scenario here. Say someone already has BIC motor mounts for 1JZ (which should work on a 2JZ as well, right?). Say you have no engine, and you come across a good condition, decent mileage engine from a Lexus GS300 (93-97 model). And it's pretty much the same...
Can you provide me with a link to buy it online?
I went to driftmotion.com and found some stuff that looked like what you're talking about, but it didn't include the regulator itself, or so I recall just reading. I'm not good with this stuff, it would be great if I'm told exactly what to buy and...
Ok, I'm going to try: it's making little "pops" every few seconds. It's just an instant pop, the RPM's lower a bit (maybe 100rpm?) for a fraction of a second but then they get back to where they were. According to him, with a fuel preassure regulator to increase the fuel, would fix this.
My car is doing something at low rpm (idle), the mechanic says I should get a fuel preassure regulator. I wanna order one online, can you guys point me to one? Engine is a stock 1JZ-GTE 5-spd.
Thank you so much in advance!!
Fellas, of course he was driving..... he had his momma's Toyota Rav4. I hit him on the side. I could hit the brakes before hitting him, so my car's front was even lower than usual, so the damage to the Rav 4 seems to be just the 2 doors on the passenger side.
I asked here because this is the...
Hello fellas. I don't post often at all, but I've been a member for a long time. My 88 hardtop with a 1JZ is on of the cleanest (if not the cleanest) MK3s in my country (Dominican Republic).
My "beater" car, which was also used by my wife, is a Honda Integra (94-2001), with the steering wheel...
I have always wondered about these kits as well. For example, if you check the Budget or the Street Kits, they say "everything you need to bolt on in one afternoon", or something.
How true is that?? I mean, the kits say they include this:
- Stainless Steel Manifold w/ T3 Flange
- Complete Oil...
If I were looking to reach 400-500WHP I'd have no complaints about that kind of money. But hot damn, I was thinking of maybe reaching 300-330WHP.... $4k is a lot for that if you ask me, and I think I'd stay with my current stock setup if that's the only choice, heh. I just wish my salary was...
I just wanna be sure of what is needed with those kits. Because one could assume it's just the kit.. but then I find out it comes without the turbo. There ya go, another several hundred bucks. Then I find out that I also need this, and that, and another thing, and $2k in misc. parts... that'd be...
I've heard that once you go single, you wont ever want the twins again. I was checking those single kits at 935, but not sure yet.
The kit at driftmotion doesn't include the turbo. How much would that ct26 with .57 trim cost? Are they easy to come by?
