Wow took the words right out of my mouth. Then I get in and drive it sometimes and I realize I like driving them but not working on them anymore.
Short term goal reached:
Rebuild engine.
Mid-term goal reached:
Wheels ,install the holset, intercooler, 3" exhaust, electric fans bov...
It probably will still smoke on start up with a -3an fitting. I am still trying to fix this problem on my holset but no success yet. I have a -4an fitting and -10an return btw still smokes when cold.
Fast is a relative term. Faster than a turtle. Faster than a pinto, faster than a go cart. In your case faster than a Lamborghini. I'm faster than a turtle slower than a pinto. But to me with no good working speedo im fast, well thats what the honda guys say :naughty:

Im with you on the 92. Everybody makes mistakes the first time around. Im glad they fixed that problem. It's basically opinions and to each his own. I say thread closed, before whe get long posts and useless pages about which one is better. At the end nobody wins and someones bound to get there...
Theres a cheaper way that yields good results and does not involve having to buy a paint gun and all that other stuff. I helped a friend tint his trucks taillights and they looked really good. Heres a link with pics http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Tutorial:Smoking_Taillights
Holset hy35 turbo, street driven supra relible turbo with decent power. You should search again you will find something. I just did. But if you dont want to search here it is. Holset hy35 with welded internal gate. Ebay t3 to ct adapter with 38mm wg port. Oil feed and return lines from mdc...
Bosch plugs especially the platinum do not work good on our cars. You could install them and see hos it goes. Worst case scenarion on a turbo engine going lean is a melted ring.
Actually, where I placed my wg it made it pretty easy to position the recirculating tube. I ended up positioning it where the engine lift hook is clocked towards the downpipe. Just got a ss plumbing tube<long 90> and cut it to where I needed and placed it where I needed.
That pretty much covers it. If you want to remove your egr and COOLER, the only way I know how is taking off the head. I did it by tapping the hole that comes out of the cyl head and put some alluminum plugs I think they were 5/8 threded plugs. One was enough but I put two just to be safe. Cant...
No room downpipe gets in the way. Dump is pointed at the downpipe or the manifold. It could work to rotate the wg but it would be difficult to run a dumptube and downpipe because of the wg. I dint realize how big a external wg was untill I had one in hand.
Im coming off a full rebuild. The block was tested and inspected when I had it machined. They checked the wall thickness before boring they also checked for cracks. I trust my machinist. I dont know what happened, the car was running really well and I didnt boost it much nothing over 10psi since...
I have a similar problem but my car doesnt overheat. I am finishing up my car and I dont drive it much so I didnt notice till this thanksgiving when I drove it.
Other things I noticed was the upper radiator hose colapsed. I checked my thermostat its practically new, changed my radiator cap...
There is no room for the wastegate beetween the manifold and the turbo. Also how the flange is rotated on the mr2 adapter makes it very difficult or maybe impossible to run a dumptube off of the wg. I tried to do a mockup with a 38mm but I couldnt seem to find a way for the wg to fit, the...
Mine clicked. The contacs inside the relay might be worn or melted. Clicking is the sound the relay makes when it is energized. Melted contacts could cause the relay to be energized but no current flow through the contacts or insufficient flow. One easy way to test is get a push button or toggle...
I had this same problem. It ended up being the starter relay passengers side kick panel. I learned the hard way with a new optima, starter, battery cables and some work. I couldnt find one so I ended up using a 5 pin 30 amp relay and wired it in place. It has been working for a few years now...
