I've got an 87 toyota supra and especially when the car hasn't warmed up yet, it shifts hard and sometimes with a clunk from park or neutral to drive or reverse. It shifts very smoothly from gear to gear when the car is driving but sometimes when it's driving and gets the revs up to about 3krpm...
I played around with my equalizer and got them to sound alot better. They sound pretty much as good as they sounded in the speaker shop now, pretty good for a dinky little pair of 4"ers. I had the 6.5" infinity reference 6022i's with the exact same deck in my old car and I really miss them...
Here's an update I made to the original comment I made earlier in this post.
--------------------UPDATE----------------------------
I got the infinity 4"speakers brand new and installed them the other day. I've got to say that for some reason they aren't sounding as good to me in the car...
This light came on in my supra and it's on all of the time. It's the orange one that's lit that I'm unsure of and is just to the left of the red one that's lit which is for the doors. It has a picture of a car on it and it looks like there's light marks coming out of the back or something...
I know, what a strange deal but I live right in the good ol' US of mo friggin' A! Maybe my supra wasn't an original US car. So anyone have a stock oil gauge that isn't kg/cm? I'm sure that most aren't but I'm just curious.
Yeah, I also just looked at the gauge and the measurement is in kg/cm squared. So the stock gauges are that bad huh? Well then fu@k me runnin'! Any other thoughts?
I just checked the online owners manual and it says that it's supposed to be at .3 or higher kg/cm at idle so I guess it's fine...
I just bought an 86.5 supra and I was wondering if my oil pressure was too low. I have the stock oil pressure gauge and the other day the needle was just below the 2 mark at idle and when I would rev it a bit probably to about 3k rpms it would climb up to the 3 mark. This evening before I...
Yeah, I did fail to look around I guess. But now as long as I've already started the thread and after all, my question is more about the feel of the pedal pressure, maybe someone could answer my question about how much easier the car stops with less pedal pressure after a brake upgrade. I...
I have achilles tendon problems and braking performance is REALLY important to me. My tendons are really weak and if someone were to pull out in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes, it could really mess up my tendons and just the thought of it scares the hell out of me. But...
I bought some brake pads from a local auto parts store and installed them in my driveway on my 86.5 supra the other day. The front pads were $12 and the rears were $10. The parts store said that they were the only ones that they carried so I just went with them. Well, the things squeak pretty...
Thanks alot everybody. After considering all of your opinions and after spending alot of time looking at my removed stock speaker pods trying to think of a way that I could squeeze a 5 and a quarter in while not hacking it up too much (while having an actual 5.25" speaker at hand to use as a...
Here's a guide to installing bigger speakers in the front doors of an 86.5-90 Supra. http://gallery.sanitylapse.com/v/supra/Front+Speaker+Install+1-21-06/
I know, that would be nice. I called all the junkyards around my area and no luck. The only place that had em was the toyota specialty junkyard and they wouldn't sell the pods unless you bought the whole door. :icon_mad: Damnnnnaaaattt!!!!
I've got an 86.5 supra and I'm thinking about putting 5.25" or 6.5" speakers in the doors. My speakers in front right now are completely blown and I have no idea what some really good 4" speakers would sound like, especially in those original pods.
Obviously, 5 or 6's will sound better...
