Yeah i've checked the crank pulley its bolted up nice and tight. To me it sounds like it might be coming from the timing belt area. Ill start pulling belts and hopefully ill find whatever it is.
So Im not really sure what this noise is but it is killing me and making me feel as though I should park the car until I get it fixed. The car was running beautifully and then one of the spark plugs fouled out. I figured I havent changed them since I bought the car back in April so Id go ahead...
I am down for that! Im about to move though, not to mention just bought this car, so funds will be tight for a while. So might not get to dyno but Id def like to watch, guess it depends on how much it will cost.
I love Frankies. Esp that drift track that they have. I came in dead last but I...
I have the RSR, its only got like two bends in it. Sounds beastly, and u can tell its a str8 six from either just revving it up or from driving it while its under load! It is extremely loud though so if ur up for that it will work.
Thanks Guys! I really love the car I saved for about 2yrs in order to buy one in great condition like this. Just never thought I would find one that was so powerful within my price range. Its definitely a hell of a lot quicker than my Spec V lol.
Haha yessir, 1st white car Ive ever owned but I...
Hey guys! Ive actually been a member of this forum for yrs now. I used to own an 88 NA Sport hardtop. Sold it about 2yrs ago and have been saving ever since to buy a turbo car. Well I finally had all the pieces in order and found my new to me car. I bought it off of Rumptis, another member here...
ok, thanks a lot guys. I will get it done asap! Just wont be today though, its snowing out there and i dont feel like being in it. You guys basically confirmed what I had been thinking anyway. I also see that autozone has a 160* thermostat any of you guys try using that one?
Ok I searched but couldnt really find exactly what im looking for. After swapping out another hose that busted on the car Im still having overheating problems. Im pretty sure that its not the headgasket, there isnt any oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil plus the car isnt smoking...
yeah i just finished a swap about a wk and a half ago, maybe a little longer. If you went from GE to GTE then it would make sense that your tach isnt working. If thats the case follow dcrusupra's advice. If you went from ge to ge then you wired something up incorrectly or forgot to hook...
Ok, so I just finished the engine swap on my car right. I havent put any of the turbo components that I have sitting in my living room on the car yet, because i wanted to shake down this new motor first to make sure everything worked smoothly and it was reliable before I started making boost...
i did that too, the car still ran whenever the voltmeter was above 12V. But it seems to drop to 12 sometimes while at idle and when it did the car shut off. So im thinking that the alternator is dying, but its still got a little life left in it. So hopefully all will work out. But now Ive got...
just got my car back from letting the guy at merchants change that bypass hose out for me and he tells me that my alternator isnt charging my battery. Driving it home from the shop Im looking at the voltmeter and its showing that the car is getting about 14 volts. If the car was running strictly...
Thanks a lot guys, especially Gilsdorf, I tried describing it to the guy in parts and he couldnt help me without the part #. But so you know it was 20.56 from fred anderson toyota. Maybe the price has gone up :dunno: but it was part # 16282
Hey guys,
Found what has been causing my coolant to disappear. It just recently completely split and makes the car completely inoperable. Its a hose that sits at the back of the motor that connects two metal pipes. Its only like 8" long or so with one 90* bend in it. I checked with autozone...
Riding around in the supra and on wed the belt for the altenator and water pump came off the car. So I limp the car home (it was overheating obviously) and i found the problem. Apparently i didnt tighten down the nuts that bolt down the fan pulley tight enough and 2 of the 4 came off somewhere...
you could probably add the necessary components to have abs on your car. Almost everything is pretty much bolt on from one car to another when it comes to our supras
umm, im not sure. But ill tell you i was nervous as hell when i did it. All I did was barely turn the key, just enough to make the motor move and it broke the bolt loose.
