Btw. My debt was around 6k.

I just paid off my car completely

car - $1200
motor - $3000
misc parts - $500

just got it fully paid off. Just took $180 to pay the rest of what i owe for christmas, etc.

Btw, I hate debts... I pay 250-300 out of every weeks check to my credit card.

Dude, paying off your debt is officially the SMARTEST thing you can ever do. I'm glad that you did. Huge props to you.

I have friends who have like 10-20k in debt, are in their early 20s, have a full-time job, and nothing to show for it. I also work at a casino. I'm surrounded by people every day who throw their futures away with debt. It saddens me every time I see someone come in, and I know they have nothing but a huge amount of debt, and all they have in life is to come in, and try to get it down (which just makes it worse). Every time I have to listen to "Please bar my husband, we're 3 months behind in rent, and I can't buy food for my children" it tears me up inside that these people just don't get it.

I think everyone in life has to learn money management, most do it by getting into debt. Fortunately, you figured it out, and got out of debt! I can understand how easy it is to get into debt. I'm putting myself through university without taking out any loans or anything. It's HARD to do sometimes. It's so tempting to just throw your tuition onto your credit card, and pay it off for the next x years.

Yeah, right now i am on my dads C/C and he has 5k debt. Its hard to see them with that much as I pay off that much in a few months. I plan on getting my own credit card here really soon and just building my credit up. I know having good credit in this time and day is the best thing any one can do. My brother jason owns his own business at 24 and his C/C is at 5% with a 40k limit. Though he buys/pays off 5-10k a month in merchandise.
