My windshield wipers were stuck to my windshield because of tree sap, when I tried to spray my windshield and clean it off, something appears to have burnt up, because the wipers wouldn't move, and the washers quickly stopped spraying, and nothing works now. The wipers and washers for the front and the rear completely quit working. I am completely clueless as to what is wrong.

So I'm pretty much stuck at this point. I replaced the entire switch assembly ($125) and I'm still getting nothing. I already took out the "relay" (The relay looks more like a complete control module) for the wipers and it's FINE. There's nothing visibly wrong with it.

I guess at this point, that's my only option? The fuse is fine, I already tried to replace it, and it didn't fix it, the motor is NOT getting power, and the only relay I can find is more like a control module, anyone have any advice?

There's a strong possibility that I just suck and still haven't found the relay, but the box that looks like a control module said: "Toyota Wiper Relay," on it, so I went ahead and assumed...

**EDIT** I take that back, it didn't specify relay. It said "Toyota Wiper Control."

have you tried looking it up on the TSRM?

I have, it shows that there's a relay for the wipers, and the only one I can find is that control module, but one of my friends (chevy owner, so, I wouldn't be surprised if he's wrong in this particular case), suggests that there should be a stand-alone relay somewhere, and that's NOWHERE to be found in the TSRM from what I can tell. I admit, I'm no master of that document, but I have had some time to look through it. I didn't spend just a minute or two looking, I've spent, collectively, over 20-25 minutes looking for it.

With a little more effort today, I've determined that the fuse IS getting power, so the fuse area is fine, but the control module (Relay?) is NOT getting power. Also, the switch is not sending power, and I don't think it's receiving power either; however, I haven't had a chance to test for that.

At this point, should I just take it to a shop? I really don't have the desire to deal with trying to follow wires that go in and out of insulated hoses and come out a mess. The only assumption I can make at this point, is that there is a short in one of the wires, anyone have any advice?

well,checking just the motor itself is going to be fun. im sure its buried in the dash somewhere. but we have determined that the motor is not the problem because the squirters are not working either.lemme see what i can find on the TSRM

have you checked the wiper switch? it could be bad...

Checked and replaced, but to no avail; however, I was able to fix it. There was an aftermarket fuse housing dealy (no idea what it is in all honesty) that was causing two fuses (completely unrelated to the wipers) to be facing the front of the veh, therefore invisible to me. I had a friend look at it, and we were able to replace the blown fuse and restore working wipers! Yeah!!
