Im looking for a swap ,but just to keep it cost efective by now, I need to leave it auto (because the trans comes with engine and takes less time).
Will the 2jzgte auto trans fit were the old auto trans was. If so will i need the custom drive shaft

Technically, its the same transmission. All Supras use some variant of the Toyota A340. So it should fit, you may have to change the tailshaft housing to mount it and use a mk3 driveshaft, I'm not sure. If you run into alot of issues using the 2jz transmission, try and find a 1jz one, they are pretty cheap and easy to come by as most people would rather run 5spd, and it will bolt up.

So basicaly i should get a 2jz-gte,then a r154 and the driveshaft (since the stock was auto i should change the driveshaft right?).

Joe I'm also wondering about this.

What Jono means is using a 1jz Auto transmission; which is still a A340, but since it's a 1jz that means that it'll be an automatic 1jz supra, where everything SHOULD line up.

did anyone ever figure this one out? I know the MKIII N/A auto speed sensor doesn't fit in the aristo electro speedo slot...
