I'm new to this site so I got a 1986.5 manual. non turbo 7mge turbo tranny
while the engine was runing, was giving a sign of shakes a little, like the engine's gona die. until it stops on the freeway.
got ten thousand miles on new spark plugs, rotors, wires, execept the coil and the igniter. battery is still good .try's to start it.
I could hear the clicking sound from the front right passenger side. and then it cranks but wont turn over.
all the interior electrical lights, power windows wipers are all working, radio.
replace the ignition coil it started after a day or two it wont start again.
pls. help

my best guess is the timing is off. 99% of no start thread here is a timing issue.

the belt was replace at 161,500 miles together with the head job gasket 2008 and now is 181,490 miles.= 19,990 miles
so I have to adjust the distributor forward ?

CPS stands for cam position sensor but your motor doesnt have one it comes on a 7mgte. try adjusting the distributor. if not see if your belt skipped a tooth. thats where id start.

Check your grounds as well. Is the Number 1 cylinder the only one not getting spark? If the timing is off the engine will run rough but it will still spark so you have an electrical problem somewhere.

I took of the oil cap lookin for the mark when its on the top dead ctenter.
1) I check the E1 ,T1 no codes given or check engine.
ever since I ask the sounds guy to install the amps and speaker that's where it all started.
2) open up the distributor cap and the rotor rotates after I switch on the ignition. so the belt is still intact
and I position the whole distri shaft to the mark o not the pin and place it back then it started like is only 2 cylinders are working.
3) pull it out the distributor shaft and positioning the rotor to 1 pos won't start again.
running out of time. any additional info are very helpfull.

last year it wont start and later found out its the 2 pcs. water temperature sensor.
also place 6 pcs spark plugs bosch 4 prong platinum .
