when my car sits at idle, it leaks nothing but as soon as i rev it or drive it, it likes to just pour out oil. its coming from the very front of the motor so i though i would replace my front main seal. replaced it as well as my cam seals yesturday but still leaks like crazy. i took off the front timing cover upper/lower and started the car. when i rev it, i can see oil pouring out from between the bottom of the head and the top of the back timing cover. i just put this motor together and was driving it for a while without major problems until recently. what could this be?

Did you put RTV in the locations on top of the front plate where it mates to the head specified by the TRSM?

Didn't look at the TRSM?!?!

In either case (what lagged said too), you will have to pull the head.
Maybe next time you won't "wing it".

Top pic, looking down on the block deck:

so i cant just pull off the front plate?

sorry, no.

but the good news is that you *SHOULDNT* need any machine work. if you have the skills to remove the head you should be able to fix your leak.

most likely it is due to the fact that you did not apply RTV where the manual says.

People have posted about fixing it that way. I did it myself. It's just as much of a pain in the ass... probably worse actually.
