Whp @ Boost Cut

I searched and looked through some of the Forum topics, and I've never heard it mentioned.

I was just wondering roughly how much people hitting boost cut on the 1JZ are potentially making at the wheels... If I had to a guess it would be around 280whp?

Anyway, this is just something I've always wanted to know for my own personal knowledge.

I dyno'd my car at SILV this year, made 320whp with just porting/polishing and BC264 cams. Had to take the boost controller off because it would hit fuel cut bad in any gear but first. Up here in the Wyoming altitude, I was able to hit between 17/18psi before hitting fuel cut, keeping consistent ~11.5 afr's, and it felt like another 40 or so hp, if not maybe a little more.

Definitely not as low as 280 though, pretty sure you'd net that even with a stock y-pipe. ;)

Sounds about right. Should have mentioned I had a 3" y-pipe as well, sorry if that threw anyone off. My 320 was at ~12 psi. Damn heat. :p

Last time I drove the car I could hit about 10psi w/ a 57trim CT26 and be under boost cut.

I should be going Stinger this spring though.

I wonder if anyone has ever though about doing a primer for 1JZ-GTE..

A primer?

Aphxero is right about a primer being kinda pointless, because it's all common sense. Most people who own a 1JZ already know exactly what they're going put on the car and what numbers to expect roughly.

I will say though that I've read primers previously on the 7M-GTE and 3S-GTE have all been awesome IMO, because they give you a rough idea on what you're making with those mods. Websites like MR2OC and SupraForums have them as stickys.

With bigger than stock exhaust it's gonna be all over boost cut. I recommend a bcc/fcd or whatever. Staying just under boost cut is pretty tough esp when even cold weather will put you over.It sucks!

Here's one totally stock with 3" dp and fcd no boost controller or anything!

Stock motors are pretty boss.

I never had a problem with fuel cut (boost cut) until I put on a boost controller. Then again, I am at ~6500' elevation, so that's a bit of a killer. :nono:
