I've recently been getting quite serious about doing a 1JZ swap on my car, and I've been thinking very hard about getting a 1JZ VVTi. I've seen a few threads about these motors, and a few people talk about swapping them, but it seems like very few have completed the swap all the way through and are driving their cars. So, who out there has it working? Are you using the stock ECU? How well does it run? I've heard that the VVTi motors knock/ping sometimes on the stock ECU, can anyone verify this?
