so am i the only one who loves these turbos? im running a 7 blade hx35 off like a 01 cummins and its been a great turbo for me. i have it at 18psi and it moves pretty good. haven't got it on a dyno because there isn't one for hundreds of miles and it runs great from just street tuning it. im sure there has to be other people running them lurking around and i would like to hear how its performed for you. also if you've dyno'd it what did you make. heres a pic of mine. :biglaugh:

There is a nor cal supras dyno day on jan 12th in west sacramento. You should come findout where you are at. Good times good people, and i predict a 4 digit pull from the 2jz foxbody mustang.

I'm running one as well at 17 psi, mine was bored out with a 62mm billet wheel from Driftmotion though. It pulls really hard. I love these turbos, but haven't gotten it to the dyno yet

nice! so the larger wheel is working fine with the stock exhaust housing or did you switch it? and what year of truck did your hx35 come of?

Runs great with the stock exhaust housing, full spool around 4400 rpm. I think its off a 98 cummins

here is the location of the dyno day. I know it is far for you, but I figured i would at least let ya know! It starts at 10:00 on the 12th, and there will be bbq. If you have never attended a nor cal supra meat you are missing out.

I think I'm running a 14cm^2 housing, whatever the stock one is. Plus with the bigger wheel it will definitely spool a little later than a stock Hx 35

yeah i think mine has a 12cm on it. whatever the 7 blade ones came with. i know the older 8 blade ones flow less and have a larger exhaust housing so maybe you have one from a early 98.

Was doing a little street tuning and made a video of a pull. I guess mine doesnt really hit till 4000 in the lower gears. but if im in 4th or 5th in spools earlier cause all the load. That's at 17psi with 255/40/17 re11a's air down to like 30psi. These tires have great grip and hook really well. All seasons or 200+ tw tires just spin :biglaugh:

Except hes running with a broken temp gauge on a 7M. Thats one thing I personally wont do. Especially when a new water temp sensor is like $10

I got mine on ebay for $300. It was a rusty POS, but the internals were nice. Took some soaking and hammering to get the housing off to rotate it (you have to).

I had an HX35W, but it was too big for my purposes so I swapped to the HY35W. Slightly smaller, spools earlier/faster, I think it would support about 475whp. I'm only running mine to 370whp right now. Hard spoolup around 3250rpm though, and response above that is very good. Still feels sluggish below 3K, but what 1JZ doesn't?

FWIW, the "W" means the turbo came with an internal wastegate. I welded them shut on both of mine since they're setup for a low RPM diesel engine and are not large enough to control the turbo on a high RPM gas engine. I use a 50mm external gate.

where did you all buy your HX turbo's? I've been trying to find some but no luck!

diesel forums or ebay. and the 7 blade one is the best

destrux how much boost are you running to make 370 out of curiousity?
