100 amp MR2 alternator (1991 2.0L with powersteering). That year MR2 used an electric pump to run the powersteering. You have to change your pulley from the stock Supra alternator to the MR2 one...it's a tight fit, but bolts right up and the electrical connectors are identical.

if u have more Q'd that need to be answered Pm jdub as he has this setup.

that's the one i got.... and get it from autozone, lifetime warranty :)

also the 87-88 supra pulley will not work, and the pulley that comes with it won't work either... you have to use an 89+ pulley, i ended up ordering one from toyota.

what's the difference in the alt pulleys between 86.5 - 88 & 89+?

score, shop press at school ftw~!

callin parts store!...

pimp, you don't need a press, just a wratchet, and maybe some longer hose to lenghten that hose that goes from the valve cover to the block, as it will be kinda crushed once the alternator is bolted in... atleast mine was, if someone has a way around that i'll take some advice?...

thanx,
ross

any one can confirm this? so if swaping to a pre 89, must use the 89+ pulley?

I'm pretty sure that's accurate. I recall a few members on SF had issues with the pulley (IIRC, one just had his machined to fit) while others had no probs swapping the pulleys.
