Whats wrong with my HKS SSQ BOV?

Well I bought the HKS SSQ BOV kit from HPF for the 7mgte and ever since about a week of owning it, the finish started to flake off. Now i have been looking at many pics of other peopls HKS SSQ BOV and the finish on theirs are still in perfect condition. Now is there something wrong with mine? Also how hard is it to take the BOV off the pipe because i have hardpipes on the way and want to move the bov over to the hardpipes?

not hard with snap ring pliers, getting it on is a little tricky though.

Maybe you're running soo much boost that it's "blowing" the finish off..lol I have no idea, I would contact HPF.

The three fin incert is made of plastic.

You can get a replacement on ebay for 20.00.

yeah mine did it too i think it is just because of the heat but i dont know for sure, it is nothing serious

heres a tip. use the little flower icon option on your digital camera when taking pictures that close. they won't come out like shit.
it kinda looks like rust. but thats not possible. that would also mean theres mist commin out of there..which i don't think is possible either...
just a side question being on the topic and all. what did you use to plug up that one hose end up on the accordian hose where the BPV was?

It's plastic. Mine did that back when I ran the SSQ
