Ive been in a few fast cars (evo's,rex's,sti's, gtrs, never a RZ cos im not interested in them *shrugs* 12sec v8's) but the most scary was a ma60 with 7mgt transplant. It had 300hp at the wheels, cut a flat 13.0 and i can honestly say i was shitting myself.Yes ive been in faster cars but for some reason this supra scared me.I couldnt wait for the ride to end.
I like to go straight line and floor it on freeways.Highspeed cruising (200kph) with a bunch of us all spaced out (like what the japs do on the wangan)
I think 400hp will be plenty enough... for now.

I can vouch for that same feeling in a mk2 with a 7mgte.. Mwebber's car is quite a handful..at about 300rwhp its fast enough to make you uncomfortable with how fast it is..but rather than want out...i wanted more...and more...and more...and more...

a 7mgte'd mk2 walks the line....there is no doubt about that.

Shit, if i could throw down 280 horses in my non-turbo i think i would honestly cry.

idk how much power im throwing down, but i think its to much for me know, honestly. All i have is a full intake, filter, piping, clutch, short shifter, test pipe, 3 inch exhaust. For performance wise, and i am not afraid to say that i should not have that car, nor can i drive it, yet, like i should.

wow thats the first time i have heard someone say something like that about their n/a mk3. i say good on you for knowing your limits.

its nice to see you dont just want to toss in a GTE motor and have at er' and assume its not a big deal to handle the bump in power.

reminds me of the "omgwtflol" face i made after i fixed the boost leak in my old car and hit 13 psi for the first time :eek3dance it scared the shit out of me (thanks to open DP the guy next to me had the same look on his face :p)

needless to say, i went home and adjusted the boost controller a little lower and learned how the car reacted first :biglaugh:

Thanks stanzaspeed, thanks.

But all the younger gusy out there, if im not the ONLY one, should wake up and realise that you can kill yourself in any car. I am in now rush to go out there and race, or go really fast, sure sometimes on the back road i do sometimes get on it and have some fun. But i truely beilive i know my limits. Im not in a rush to go turbo, as of now, a little over 200 horsepower is the perfect range for me, if not too much.

great attitude to have :icon_bigg

well said as well! you have a very mature attitude on the subject.

i appreciate that as i was one of the "stupid kids" myself when i was younger. a few tickets and close calls later, i realised you dont have to go fast just for the hell of it or to prove anything to anyone.

you can prove you are the bigger man just by staying in controll and making the most out of 180 ponies in your car than the douche in the 1100 hp dyno queen who will hit the ditch at any more than 1/4 throttle.

Well said on your part as well stanza!

In my own opinion, i could care less as to who make fun of me for driving an "old peice of crap". I intentionally tell people that my car only has 180 horses. I dont care what others think, owning a supra is about self-worth and maturity, not speed or intimidating others.

But, once again, thats simply my beilef.

there is no way these cars could ever be "old peices of crap" thats the beauty of it.

i would rather have a n/a mk3 with coilovers and nice tires on sawblades than a 10 second foxbody.

just the way these cars sound and feel makes just driving them at any speed a pleasure. i cant wait to get behind the wheel of one again. it feels like forever sice i sold my old 87T

no, but, no.... NO!!!!!!

you sold the supra in your cardomain?!?!?~!?!

no!!!!!!!!!!!

SHe was a beauty!

But back to topic, as you just said, i would take a non-turbo with coilovers and nice suspension, rim set-up, over even a turbo-supra with 300 horses and a stock suspension set-up. Its about the handeling and feeling, not the speed.

When i want to go fast, i spend the 75 bucks and take a trip to englishtown race-way and race on the track for a day.

Once again, just my opinion.

stanza, plus one for our opinions being the same.

Great minds- drive supras.

yea the black car is gone. only got 3k for her without the wheels. got the call last night, new owner just killed it too

i got a little something new lined up to take its place. no hints as to what it is though:biglaugh:

you are lucky that you have a track to go to. the nearest one to me is about 5 hours away roughly. i can live with just taking easy turns in the supra though. i have yet to feel anything like a supra on coilovers.

thanks for the +1, heh you got one yourself about 10 mins ago from me for your maturity and knowledge of your capabilities, both admirable qualities.
