Hate the electrical side of these cars but am trying to get my boost and temp gauge to light up when the headlights come on, they're mechanical and both work but neither put out any light.

The boost gauge has 1 wire coming out of it (is it missing one?), the temp has 2. My ash tray light and cig light don't work, no idea why. All fuses are fine. Was thinking of wiring them to the glovebox light but that only comes on when it's open.

Already spent an hour and a blown fuse later have found no way, did try to wire into one of the cig light wires that with a test light came on with the headlights but blew a fuse for all the dimmers in the dash.

Yeah, your boost gauge must be missing a wire, you have to have both power and ground...

And you want to wire them into the gauge cluster lighting circuit.

If you don't care about dimming (I have my dimmer on high all of the time anyway) and you have an aftermarket radio with a harness, you can tap into the "illumination" wire on the harness. This way you don't have to cut into the stock wiring.
