I was trying to replace this hose earlier today and the pipe end on this thing broke off. on the other side of it there is a sensor with 2 vac nipples that are not connected to anything..

what is this sensor and what is this thing have to do with the heater system?
also, if anybody knows where to find these in the TSRM that would be great!

That VSV activates the coolant flow to the heater core. Yours probably stopped working and was bypassed. The vacuum hose currently going to the top of the valve should go to the nipple on the left side of the VSV, the inner (right side) nipple should have a hose from it to the top of the water valve. As for the part you broke, that's the water valve, it allows coolant to flow to the heater core.

The way it was setup had coolant always flowing through the heater core, you might as well just take the entire thing out and connect the 2 water hoses together, if you're going to do what they did there.

Looks to me like you need a new water valve and a new VSV, plus a short piece of vacuum line. Set that thing back up properly.
