what is this plug?

can anyone tell me what this plug is?
When I got the car it wasnt plugged into anything and I can't find anywhere for it to plug in. Its hanging down behind the PS pump and infront of the turbo. Coming off the engine harness.

Plugs into the solenoid on the steering rack.

Could be. Wrong color though.

its grey in color. if that helps. I dont remember seeing anywhere for it to plug into on the steering rack.

For PPS the manual shows a white connector. A better clue would be wire colors.

I found this plug, while searching. If this is what your thinking, My plug is on the passengers side of the motor when this pic shows this plug on the driver side

That's the LP (headlights on) input to the ECU if it is a red-yellow wire.

Huh. Not doubting you Jon but the signal originates from IR2. Why would it even need to be on the engine side of the firewall?

I stand corrected. My comment doesn't make sense. The LP line goes to connector B1 so as JJ points out, wouldn't be in the engine room.
