in the morning or on cold starts i get this odd raspy rattle...only last a second but i can figure where its coming from....it sounds like a leaf is being chopped up in my fan only really close to my fire wall on the engine side...any thoughts? i cant see anything that would cause it....

Heh, you'll drive yourself nuts trying to track down every little noise these cars can make man. Common sounds heard upon startup of our cars include the 'waterfall' (do a search, you'll see dozens if not hundreds of threads), exhaust leaks, rods knocking (sadly), and a distinct little sound I like to call "awesomeness". Maybe that last one isn't heard on every Supra, but I know it is on mine. :)

Awesomeness is that sound that you hear when you start up your car and realize that for all the hard work you've put into your car, it's ALL been worth it, knowing you're likely going to be in the coolest thing you see on your way to work. :)

Far as your noise issue goes, there are some noises that are problems, and some noises that really aren't. Is it persistent? Probably should look into it a bit, do some homework. Does it go away shortly after startup? Might not be a big deal then. However, there are some things that WILL seem out of place, and it's up to you to learn your car's quirks.

Eh, all I can say is keep an eye on your fluid levels at all times, no matter what engine you're running, although doubly so if 7m.
