weird noise might be the trans.

:1zhelp: when i start driving my car it makes a grinding sound around the shifter, im thinking its the trans but the weird thing it only does it for about 10 mins and its not like a constant grinding sound or some times theres a rattle most the time its a rattle its kinda un predictable but it kills me to drive my car and it makes a grinding sound in reverse to but thats a constant repetative grind it does it like every 2 sec. i dont know what the problem is tell me what you think it might b

i get the grind at reverse too, its just an old trans and it needs a rebuild. its normal.

Because I dont know how it sound, I'll guess, maybe there is something touching driveshaft?
But if you really know that this sound comes from gearbox, then it means that your Synchros are toast.
